We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Martinez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tim, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by the constant pursuit of excellence. Working alongside entrepreneurs and professionals that never take their foot off the gas and continually challenge themselves and others around them to do the same keeps me inspired.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been on an entrepreneurial journey well before I knew what the word “entrepreneur” meant. I’ve started countless businesses; got lucky and sold a few and have been lucky enough to partner with some great business people. Somewhere along the line I fell into the world of consulting whereby I have been fortunate enough to share my knowledge, skills and resources with others in an effort to help them build and grow great businesses that contribute to society in a meaningful way. Honestly I’m excited about all of it. The process was never easy, although certain aspects become easier to understand the more you do them. But the challenge is the reward. Small wins that stack upon each other day after day is what makes a success over time. The throughline to my success and that of other entrepreneurs is consistency. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be consistent and never quit. Failure is never detrimental, rather it is temporary. What needs to be long-term is your approach towards building a successful life in whatever measure you so determine that to be. If the world were to know anything about my story it’s that I’m in the fight everyday to overcome challenges and obstacles like everyone else from the Fortune 500 CEO to the start-up entrepreneur.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Golf – Roosevelt Golf Course (9 holes) to get the day started. A walk over to Lake Hollywood in the morning, about three miles around a hidden gem in the city that provides a perfect overlook of the lake and the Hollywood sign. Breakfast at Aroma Cafe on Tujunga and Riverside in the valley. Head over to Melrose/Fairfax for a stroll and some great people watching. Grab a cup of coffee and head up to Graystone Manor to walk the premises of a truly unique castle in the hills with the best view of LA in the City. Stroll down to Sunset strip then head over to Beverly Hills for some lunch or a late snack. Hit New Beverly Cinema for an old time movie (Quentin Tarantino’s theater). Hit Musso & Franks or Dan Tana’s for a classy/historic dinner. Wrap it up by seeing the sunset somewhere off Mulholland.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God – with whom I draw all strength from.
Parents – who taught me the value of hard work and ethics.
Spouse – the love, support, confidence and backing contributes immeasurably to any form of success that I have ever achieved.
Business Partners – their willingness to lock arms and go into battle together has provided me with immense value.
Clients – to the thousands of business owners/executives I have had a chance to work, their confidence and belief in me has helped me to raise my own personal and professional standards; ultimately their trust in me has driven me to do better work.
Countless mentors – whom I’ve been able to cement long lasting relationships with to the hundreds of mentors I’ve gained indirectly from reading books, listening to inspirational/motivational videos/podcasts/seminars and beyond.
