We had the good fortune of connecting with Tatiana Paje and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tatiana, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Before I started my management company I worked for a couple talent agencies and acted myself. My kids used to act as well, and that was the driving point of my business for managing. To start it on my own wasn’t an easy decision, but I thought I will never do it if I don’t do it now. I had a business partner at the beginning of this journey, but eventually my partner had to split due to personal reasons, so I had to work on my own which was exciting and a bit scary. So in short, I like to help actors to achieve their goals and enjoy seeing them do what they love with ease. I truly believe that actors know how to act, they just need some encouragement and someone on their side that believes in them. And I do believe in my actors.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I believe what sets me apart from others is my willingness to give a chance to every actor. Every actor can blossom with the right representation, and I’m happy to give them a tryout. I do not differentiate between beginners or highly seasoned talent. As long as there is room on my roster, and the actor is willing to work, I am willing to work with them.

With my business model, it is not easy to make money right away. Fresh talent requires a lot of work in the beginning. Seasoned actors are much easier to work with, but working with fresh talent is more rewarding. I do love working with both however.

The world of entertainment is not easy. Managers and agents get as many NO’s as actors do. Just because we are in a representative position doesn’t mean we don’t get upset at rejections for our actors. We also get happy and celebrate when the actor books the part.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since I live in Southern California, everyone already knows the most famous places: Universal Studios, Disneyland, Warner Brothers Studio. Those would for sure be on the agenda. I also discovered a really neat cafe called “Sun Cafe”, which I enjoy because it serves lots of vegan options for those who need it.

There are beautiful walks and hikes in various places in Southern California, but my most favorite hiking spot is in Palos Verdes. This hike is gorgeous, with a beautiful ocean view.

I would take people horseback riding in Newbury Park. I would also take people to ice skating at the beautiful ice skating rink Toyota Sports Performance Center.

Santa Monica and Malibu would also be on the agenda. I would take them to the 3rd Street Promenade and also the Getty Villa. The Getty Villa is a real unexpected gem. They offer a free tour of the gardens, and that is definitely a must.

To finish up the week, we would hit Hollywood Boulevard, listen to classical music at the Hollywood Bowl, walk the Santa Monica Pie0, take a boat ride to Catalina, and take in a baseball game at Dodger Stadium. Whew!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I appreciate the help and support from my family. I also want to thank my good friend, the owner of Miralee Menzies Talent for her words of encouragement telling me to never give up even when things get hard. And of course, I would like to thank Hamzah Saman, CSA, for introducing me to many new people in the entertainment industry. I want to also shout out all my actors , thanks for sticking with me through all the highs and lows, the best is yet to come.
