Meet Susanne Rossler | Real Estate Broker Associate

We had the good fortune of connecting with Susanne Rossler and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Susanne, how do you think about risk?
Many of humanity’s greatest achievements would never have happened without risk takers of generations past, who defied norms and asked the questions “what if?” and “why not?”. I grew up in a family of risk takers – my father gave up a lucrative medical practice when he instead joined the World Health Organization and moved his young family to Africa in the late 60’s. I spent my first 16 years in several African countries, before completing my university degree in the US and starting what would likely have been a comfortable and upwardly mobile corporate career in business operations in Europe.
In 1998, my European employer offered me an amazing promotion at the company HQ in Holland, and I was faced with the choice of continuing my corporate trajectory or pursuing my dreams of owning my own business – something I had wanted to explore since I completed my studies in the US. I decided to scrape together my overtime and vacation pay, follow my heart, and be my own boss in Southern California.
I cannot say that the path was easy (I could fill a book on obstacles and setbacks!), but I have never looked back on the decision and have no doubt that success and confidence come to those who believe in themselves, and work hard.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
My career was not a straightforward path by any measure, and I credit the skills learned along the way to my success as a real estate agent. My late husband, a Realtor®, introduced me to real estate and helped me develop a part-time hobby into a rich and rewarding career. My many personal relocations, some across continents, and almost two decades of real estate experience, have made me into an empathetic and versatile problem solver with a large network of service providers and vetted partners to support all aspects of a home sale, purchase or move. I am a passionate learner and used the Covid lockdown to earn my Golf Property Specialist, Trust & Probate Specialist, as well as Certified Relocation Professional credentials to better serve my clients.
The rich diversity I experienced and enjoyed while living and working in many different cultures helped develop my communications skills, and my corporate background serve as a valuable asset in contract negotiations and financial analysis.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
San Diego County offers endless possibilities for fun and entertainment, and I would likely ask my friend to stay longer than a week! But these are some of my must-do’s: Day 1: Take a short drive to Temecula wine country and enjoy wine tastings and delicious appetizers at some of the region’s popular and prized wineries. Spend some time exploring shops and restaurants in Old Town Temecula before heading home.
Day 2: Head south to Coronado Island and enjoy a tour and delicious ice cream at the historic Hotel del Coronado while watching beach goers enjoy the waves. Rent an e-bike and explore along Bayshore or the Silver Strand.
Day 3: Book a round at one of the world-famous Torrey Pines courses and enjoy challenging golf and panoramic, breathtaking ocean views. Watch the gliders at the Torrey Pines Gliderport and plan cocktails or dinner at the Torrey Pines Lodge.
Day 4: Explore Carlsbad Village in North County and stroll through the seaside community with charming stores, coffee shops and top restaurants. Walk along the beach path and watch surfers share the waves with beach goers and the occasional pelican. Ideally, the visit should coincide with one of the annual art or music festivals, which draws crowds from near and far.
Day 5: Enjoy world-class shopping and reward yourself with drinks overlooking La Jolla Cove, where sealions bask in the sun. Book a play or symphony in San Diego for later in the day, followed by drinks and dinner in the historic Gaslamp quarter.
Day 6: Rent kayaks or paddle boards and enjoy the beautiful lagoons from the water.
Day 7: Visit Balboa Park and the many fascinating museums which explore the region’s rich and abundant history. In the summer, enjoy a baseball game at Petco Park, which was recently voted the best baseball park nationwide, or learn more about conservation efforts at the world-famous San Diego Zoo.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate my story to my parents, who were not only amazing role models, but also supported my brother and me in the pursuit of our dreams, even if it meant both of us moving far away from them. Deep gratitude is also owed to my loving partner who supports me in following my passion every day.
