We had the good fortune of connecting with Susan Bergeson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Susan, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor of Bailey’s Instagram’s success is Bailey herself. Her ability to pose while dressed up or even naked connects her with the audience. She knows how to work the camera and makes it easy for me to create content. I never have a shortage of videos at my disposal. Everyday I am in awe of how much engagement she recieves and how her follower count keeps growing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Professionally I am a graphic designer and was for most of my adult life. So being creative with Bailey Instagram came naturally to me. I had always found it easy to find jobs I loved, along with freelance design on the side to supplement my income. As San Diego became more expensive and my living situation changed I needed to make a career move or I was going to have to move out of town. I am now a Customer Service Representative at a very successful printing company but I am no longer utilizing my expressiveness at work so Bailey’s Instagram became a passion. It doesn’t hurt that the time we spend filming or taking photos brings us closer. I get a creative outlet and she gets lots of attention and treats. I never thought of myself as an entertainer but now I get satisfaction every time one of her reels goes viral. With the success of her Instagram Bailey now is an ambassador for many amazing brands along with getting us invited to so many fun events. This has really opened up so many opportunities that I would have never thoguyht possible and I am grateful for every single follower or fan we have.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What I love about San Diego is how dog friendly it is. Anywhere you can bring your dog is a great place in my book. Since San Diego has great weather year round most restaurants have outside seating which in turn usually means dogs are allowed. One place that comes to mind is The Dog Society. They have food, drinks, games and dogs are allowed everywhere in the whole place. They even have fun photo ops and an outside play area for dogs to run off leash. Walks are also a great way to get exercise and spend time with your dog. being that I live close to Balboa Park it is one of my favorites to visit. The architecture is beautiful and you can stop and grab a bite or drink at Panama 66. Old Town is another amazing dog friendly walking neighborhood and if you get hungry Freds Mexican Cafe has a great dog menu! Keep an eye out for City cruises schedule. Once or twice a year they have dog cruises and nothing is more fun that sight seeing on the bay while your fur baby takes in all the smells while making new friends. If you see Bailey and I out and about in San Diego you will notice I am always documenting our adventures. You never know when I might capture the next viral moment.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give credit to my neighbor/best friend for suggesting Bailey has what it takes and I could possibly make some extra cash on the side by starting an Instagram for her. She had one for her dog, Dodger, and showed me how to get started. I am also a part of so many dog chat groups and I have been given great advice on how to make the most of her Instagram. Along the way I have made life long dog mom friends.
