We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Mantiply and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what do you attribute your success to?
Part of my success has been the ability to create a strong brand. In order to have a successful brand what I’ve found is that you must be constant, and you need to be true to yourself as an artist and person. I’m not just “taking photos” I’m selling who I am and I’m also “selling” an experience they will enjoy so they can feel comfortable. When that happens, I get authentic photos that they will cherish with happy clients who enjoy the process and the end results. Your brand is so much more than pretty fonts and colors, it’s YOU and what you bring to the table.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Today I am extremely proud of where my “little” business is at. This whole idea started when I had children. I take that back, First, I have been in love with photography since high school and I even use to expose my photos in a dark room. So, photography wasn’t new to me what was new is that I picked up a camera again and I was capturing my children as they grew up. I started small by taking photos of family and friends and then I decided to take the plunge and turn my hobby into a business. I got the best of both worlds, a career I loved and a schedule I could manage. It wasn’t easy and it’s still not easy. I am continuously learning new things whether it be on the business side (social media, finance etc.) or photography side (editing skills, photography skills etc.) The point is I am always learning and putting in a ton of work. I have grown my business very slow on purpose because, I was a Mom that wanted to balance work life and motherhood on her own terms. As my kids have gotten older it’s been easier to grow faster and be able to manage the things I want to accomplish. I couldn’t be prouder of my small business and where I am at today. I’m super excited to watch it grow even more.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was coming into town for vacation our schedule would look like this. First and fore most we need to start our day with a good cup of coffee. Being a coffee snob that means I’m either grinding my own beans & French pressing our coffee or we can head to one of my favorite places The Press Espresso. This trendy stylish café has some of the best coffee in town. One of my favorite drink’s is the tiramisu latte. We both like to eat and drink wine so hitting up some favorite spots would be a priority. Places we’d eat at are mainly in downtown Temecula or beautiful wine country; We would go wine tasting at Robert Renzoi, they have the best red wines and the food and views are amazing. There are so many wonderful wineries to go to. I still haven’t been to all of them, but a day in wine country with my bestie with good food and wine sounds fantastic. Maybe add a massage at one of the spas!? We could also do a wine tour on horseback and then they also have tours where you ride in a motorcycle sidecar, so that would be an option as well. Restaurant’s for dinner or lunch, 1909 they have the best cranberry white cheddar salad with chicken and a cantaloupe sangria! One of the best things I love about 1909 is that they have a ton of outside patio seating and during the beautiful summer nights its fantastic. Then after dinner we would head to a speakeasy, one of our favs is the apparition room they have the best drinks, plus you feel like you just walked back in time. We would probably hit the repeat button a couple times and add in some shopping/beach/pool days. Our little but big town of Temecula is beautiful, fun and friendly. We have so many fun things to do I wouldn’t be able to get her to all of them, but we could sure try!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Since day one my husband has been my biggest supporter. He has continuously helped me with different aspects of my business, especially the business side. I love the creative side obviously, but since I’m a one-woman band I need to wear many hats. So, I always like to run an idea or a problem I have by him to get his feedback to see if I need to change anything up or if I’m doing something wrong. It’s always great to get constructive criticism. No matter what I do he has always been there for me and continuously cheers me on! Not only am I lucky to have the support of my husband, but I have been blessed to be surrounded by some amazing women who are my friends and boss ladies of their own business. We bounce ideas off each other and support each other anyway we can. Without the support of my husband and amazing friends I’m not sure where I’d be!? Wait, I do know, I probably would have given up. For me having a solid support system has truly kept me going and I am forever grateful. To my husband I love you, I love the way you support me in anything I do. To my circle of amazing friends, thank you for the love and support along the way and thank you for helping me strive at reaching my goals personally and professionally.
