Meet Stephanie Alburquerque

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Alburquerque and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Blooming Villa Coordination was built on a powerful urge and desire to have more in life. Growing up, every adult figure in my life worked a 9-5 and about 95% of them didn’t go to college. They worked to pay their bills and that was that. When I became a mom, I quickly realized that a 9-5 was not something I desired and none of the available work from home positions were appealing. I began to explore my options of being a part time venue manager or wedding coordinator. Most of these positions for part time coordinators work a 9-12 hour shift (part time because its 1-3 days a week) with heavy lifting throughout the day and no chance of breaks in between. However, the pay offered wasn’t outweighing the fact that I would have to leave my daughter under someone else’s care. In addition, the pay offered wouldn’t cover half the cost of what was needed to live comfortably. Therefore, I came to the conclusion, that the only way to make the money I desired and reap the joys of motherhood to its fullest extent would be to go into business for myself. It definitely hasn’t been easy and it is time consuming at times, but being able to help couples make their dream weddings come to life without breaking the bank and being able to stay home with my daughter makes its all worth it.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Blooming Villa Coordination is a wedding and event coordination and planning services business. We offer a variety of packages in order for clients to book whats best for their needs. However, our prices and packages are not a set standard. We understand that each event requires its own unique itinerary, design, and regulations; Therefore, I like to discuss the details of the event with the clients first before giving them a quote. We stand out because our staff goes above and beyond the standard quo. Most coordinators do not help clear and clean the venue throughout the evening and leave it clean at the end of the night. The last thing you want to do at the end of the night after an eventful day is clean-up. Blooming Villa will place all your items in a designated area ready for you to load into your vehicle. We also leave the venue clean so you don’t have to stay later or return the next day. At Blooming Villa we want you to truly enjoy your event and feel that your money was well spent.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

I think sole of the most exciting people are the ones who are down for a last minute adventure. The type of people who aren’t scared to try new things and rarely say no. I love spontaneity and love the type of people who encourage and welcome it.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband has been my rock. I know being first time parents and business owners hasn’t been the easiest on our marriage! He is the reason I get to start a business that will be beneficial to us both! Thank you so much for all your hard work honey! For working such a hard position and working 12 hr shifts when I know you are exhausted just to provide for us! Due to that hard work, I get to stay home with our beautiful daughter and start a business. We love you and so grateful for you
