We had the good fortune of connecting with Sofia Danielle Almazan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sofia Danielle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind creating Elusive Glow Esthetics was very simple. I wanted to create a business with different channels of services that allowed me to share my story with everybody, that investing in yourself will always pay off. As I dived further I wanted my business to also have the underlying tone of you CAN have it all.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Elusive Glow Esthetics is the most fulfilling experience I’ve been able to accomplish. I’ve built my business from the ground up in a short amount of time, doing it all with passion and purpose. I believe what sets me apart from others is my authenticity. I do everything with passion, and intention. Every move I make as a business is fueled by those two things.

Reflecting on where I am today is a trip. I am currently an in- service Esthetician providing services such as: Full body hair removal, lash extensions, enhancements & skin treatments. Aside from behind the table, I am also an EDUCATOR, Coach & Mentor! I am so proud of myself for taking the step in believing in myself in 2020 to allow me to reach these beautiful peaks. It is never easy, there have ALWAYS been setbacks along the way: physical, mental, and material. But, I remind myself of the bigger picture and keep bulldozing through anything in my way of my next goal.

With that mindset, I have learned a lot throughout my journey and I still am learning. I learned how to prioritize me first, me as Sofia, not me as Elusive Glow Esthetics. Money is amazing, but if your physical or mental health is out of condition it will take a toll on your business. I have a hard time being easy on myself, I want to go after the next big idea I have immediately! This doesn’t allow me to embrace the milestones I’ve hit already. I’m working on embracing me and allowing myself to be proud.

I want the world to know that Sofia Danielle Almazan was made for this, and i’m coming for everything I set my mind to. I want everyone to know- believing in ourselves is the hardest thing to do, but once you do that… everything else is easy. All the blessings you blocked yourself from receiving are now in the palm of your hands.

I want the world to know YOU CAN HAVE IT ALL.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d definitely recommend:

Hash House a Go Go for breakfast, if you have never tried this restaurant, it is amazing.

Mt. Soledad at night for the stunning views of my city.

I love hanging out at the zoo! I also love discovering new things at Balboa Park. Or spending time at Seaport Village and seeing what’s new. And I can always hangout at Coronado, it is just so serene.

San Diego is full of amazing places. I love touring my city, and even if you’re from San Diego- take a day and tour YOUR city. Fall in love with it.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have two shoutouts, and they are no brainers.

The shoutout behind my business will belong to my dad. He has inspired me since I was a child with his hardwork. He taught me at a young age don’t ever depend on a men (amen to that!) but also to stay true to your character and never bend. I embody that as a young, strong woman & business owner.

The shoutout behind my confidence being a business owner & entrepreneur will belong to my mom. She never made me feel like my ideas were silly or unimaginable, she always believed in me and my work!
