Meet Shawny Ellsworth | Medical Tattooist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shawny Ellsworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shawny, what do you want your legacy to be?
My legacy is one of empowerment, transformation, and authenticity. Through Exquisite Aesthetics and Exquisite Beauty Skin, I strive to help others feel confident and radiant in their own skin. My work is about more than beauty—it’s about healing, embracing individuality, and uplifting people to recognize their worth.
I want to be remembered as a trailblazer who pushed boundaries in the aesthetics industry while staying true to my passion for innovation and my commitment to excellence. Beyond the treatments and products I’ve created, I hope to leave a lasting impact by inspiring others to pursue their dreams with resilience and determination.
Most importantly, I want to be remembered as someone who made a difference—not just in how people looked, but in how they felt about themselves. My goal is to create beauty not only on the outside but also in the lives I touch, leaving behind a legacy of love, growth, and empowerment.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My journey to creating this brand began in a place where beauty felt like an unattainable luxury. Born in a refugee camp, my family’s focus was survival. When we immigrated to the U.S., life was still a struggle—financially and emotionally. I grew up navigating insecurities about my skin and appearance, with little access to the resources or knowledge that could help.
Those experiences shaped my perspective on beauty and resilience. They taught me that skincare isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about healing, empowerment, and self-love. That belief became the foundation of Exquisite Beauty & Skin, where my process is as much about transformation as the results.
Everything begins with understanding. I approach skincare with the belief that every person’s journey is unique. That’s why I take the time to listen to real challenges, whether it’s sensitive skin, scars, or restoring balance. Through careful research and hands-on expertise, I’ve designed a process that focuses on nourishing the skin and repairing it from the inside out.
I’m deeply committed to using only safe, effective ingredients, combining the best of science and nature. My approach prioritizes care that respects your skin’s unique needs—especially for those who, like me, have dealt with eczema, scars, or other sensitivities. It’s about building trust with your skin and giving it the time and love it deserves to heal and thrive.
But my work doesn’t stop at skincare. I believe in empowering you with knowledge—helping you understand your skin better, so you can make informed choices that bring lasting confidence. This process is deeply personal to me because I know how much our skin affects the way we feel about ourselves.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Here’s how I’d lay out a perfect day for showing someone the best of the South Bay:
Morning: I’d start the day with breakfast at Good Stuff Restaurant in Redondo Beach. It’s one of my favorite spots for a hearty breakfast with ocean views. Whether it’s their fluffy pancakes or their avocado toast, you can’t go wrong. Plus, the beachy vibe sets the tone for the day perfectly.
Midday: For lunch, I’d pack up some light bites and head to RAT Beach (Right After Torrance). It’s the perfect quiet spot to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze, and have a laid-back, peaceful lunch by the water. There’s something special about this hidden gem that always feels like an escape.
Evening: Dinner would be at Little Sister in Redondo Beach. I absolutely love their Southeast Asian-inspired dishes—my go-to is the “shaky shaky beef,” but honestly, everything on the menu is amazing. The atmosphere is cozy but chic, and it always feels like a treat to eat there.
Night: After dinner, I’d head to Hermosa Beach for some bar hopping. The nightlife there is vibrant and full of energy. We’d start at Tower 12, known for its live music and history, then hit up American Junkie for a fun, lively crowd. From there, we’d just go with the flow and explore the rest of the bars along the pier. It’s the best way to cap off a perfect South Bay day!
This itinerary balances good food, beautiful views, and a great night out. It’s my idea of showing someone the best time in my area!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to recognize my husband, Adam Ellsworth—not only for being my biggest supporter but also for being an incredible businessman and dad. As a loan officer, he’s an expert at navigating numbers and making smart financial decisions, but at home, he’s the heart of our family. He’s the guy in the background making sure everything runs smoothly, fixing things as my handyman, offering honest advice as my sounding board, and stepping in as a full-time dad when I’ve needed to focus on growing the business.
Since I opened this clinic in 2015, while juggling a newborn and a toddler, Adam has never once told me no. Even though he has no say in my business decisions, he’s always been there to help in any way possible—whether it’s taking care of the kids on weekends or simply cheering me on through the highs and lows. His understanding of how much this clinic means to me has been the backbone of my success.
And, of course, a huge shoutout to my parents. They’ve always stepped in whenever we needed them, helping with the kids and offering their constant love and encouragement. This clinic truly stands as a testament to the amazing people who’ve supported me every step of the way.
