Meet Shane Alexander | Professional Stuntman

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shane Alexander and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shane, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-taking is pretty much an everyday thing for most people honestly, but especially so in the stunt industry, it’s literally our job. These are not just “close your eyes and jump” type risks though. We work with calculated risks! Stunt performers need to be able to execute stunts over and over. There is a reason we train constantly, technique and skill can honestly save your life while performing stunts on set, and taking time to calculate the stunt and perform it safely is always the main goal for Stunt Coordinators and Stunt performers.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The best part about being a Stunt performer is definitely the amazing projects that you get to play a part in, in making them into a reality! Creating a film takes so many people to make it work. When you finally finish and get to watch what you helped create on the screen it can be a very rewarding feeling! If anyone can take away something from my story it’s that you should take that chance, don’t be afraid! You never know where it might lead you!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first stop would absolutely be the beach! You can’t beat that beauty! The next stop would be to Little Italy, the food and drinks out there have to be some of the best in the State! After that, I’d spend the rest of the time in the beautiful wine country in Temecula! The feeling out there is so relaxing and stunning you won’t want to leave, I promise!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people that have helped me and guided me within my Stunt journey and I wouldn’t be where I am now without them. The first one would be my amazing mother Laurie Little! She has always given me encouraging but also very realistic advice, and is always my number one fan! I am constantly asking her for advice on just about everything! I love you, Mom! I would also not have made it this far without the life teachings and training from my martial arts instructor Frank Neiberger. He took me under his wing when I was 7 years and opened the beautiful world of martial arts to me, without the skills that he taught me I can honestly say I would not still be alive today, I owe him so much. Last but not least is the United Stuntmen’s Association! The Stunt Coordinators here really put my foot in the door in the industry and continue to keep guiding me!
