We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Baker, LMFT and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I began my career as a Licensed Psychotherapist working at a crisis center. I worked long hours, was tired all the time, felt drained, managed a large team, and helped people during some of the hardest times of their lives. While this work was very fulfilling on some level it was also very taxing on me energetically. I knew I was meant for something more. Something that would fulfill all of my values, dreams, and desires. Something that would allow me to help and serve others while I also living a life of love, abundance, success, and freedom.

At the time I was feeling all of this the universe presented me with an opportunity to host a transformational retreat in Peru. I knew this was the opportunity I was meant for and I was also scared to leave my comfortable job. I leaned in to my intuition, took a leap of face and went all in on my purpose.

I had the most amazing time guiding others on their highest path through yoga, mindset work, travel and spiritual connection and I knew this is what I was made for. After the retreat I spent time learning about how to create a successful group therapy practice and everything evolved from there. I built my company, SABI Pathways Holistic Wellness, and now have 10 team members supporting my vision. I have personally expanded into mindset & empowerment coaching and help people to release emotional trauma and unconscious blocks through NLP, hypnosis and energy work.

Creating this business has been a dream com true and the ultimate fulfillment of my purpose.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When people ask me what I do I often pause, because I don’t know where to start. I am a licensed psychotherapist, mindset coach, hypnotherapist, yoga instructor, retreat leader, entrepreneur, visionary, etc., etc. I am all of these things and at the core of it all I am me.

The development of my professional career has been a lifelong journey, a soul seeking adventure. I was driven by passion, curiosity, excitement. I always wanted to learn more about the world and how I could be of service to it’s evolution. I knew that I was meant to help, guide, and inspire others and that there was a way to have a lot of fun doing it.

I followed my heart and listened to my intuition. I loved learning about the mind and dedicated my time to obtaining a M.A. in Psychology. I went through my clinical training and became licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist while also pursuing my yoga certification, hypnotherapy, NLP and so much more.

This has all led me to where I am today. I coach women to release unconscious blocks and live a life of true meaning, impact, and purpose. I am the founder of SABI Pathways Holistic Wellness, an integrative group therapy practice, and I run transformational retreats all over the world. I love every moment of everything I do and I am so grateful to live my purpose!

Pursuing your path will always bring challenges and those challenges are meant to stretch you. They are meant to help you grow and evolve into who you’re meant to be. When you take on this mindset you are able to go farther than you’ve ever gone. You get to grow out of the comfort zone and access the unlimited potential the universe has waiting for you.

I have learned to see every emotion, every challenge, every person as a lesson, a teaching, an opportunity. I have learned to celebrate every obstacle, because I know I am expanding. I have learned to offer compassion, forgiveness, and kindness to all. I have learned to live authentically me n every moment. I believe every person has the ability to live a life they love, they just have to choose t with conviction and do what it takes to get there!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love to host and give my loved ones an experience of a lifetime. Whenever they come to visit I love to plan something new, fun, and exciting for them. My ultimate week in the city of San Diego would start in North County where we live in La Costa.

We would start the week with some local vibes and some of my favorite spots. Coffee at Lofty, a walk through Batiquitos Lagoon, burritos from Roberto’s Leucadia, eaten at Beacon’s Beach, and followed by a beautiful sunset. Dinner at Valentina’s Leucadia and dessert at Cali Creamin in Encinitas. We’d spend a couple more days exploring the beaches of Encinitas, eating sushi in Del Mar, watching live music at the Belly Up in Solana Beach. We’d move up the coast to La Jolla and kayak through the cove, eat a fancy dinner at Eddie V’s, sleep at the La Valencia. From there we would stop by Law St beach in Pacific Beach, paddle board at Mission Bay, ride roller blades around the boardwalk, and then ride the roller coaster late into the night. The trip would end downtown San Diego where we’d explore the streets, eat dinner at The Pendry, slip into a speakeasy, and then eventually make our way back home.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My journey absolute launched to new levels when I began training with Empowerment Inc., a Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) training school! They are amazing and I wouldn’t be where I am today without their teachings.
