Meet Samantha Marie Saglibene | Singer/Songwriter, Full-Time Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Marie Saglibene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha Marie, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I made “Samantha Marie Music”, an official business in 2023, while still living in Los Angeles, and it’s truly turned into something I am so productive of, as it represents myself within my own artist project, “Samantha Marie”, as well as my writing for other artists.
As my writing has gotten more honest within the past few years, it has been such a gift to get to share the creativity with other writers, helping them share their stories, within their own music.
This also applies to the writing, and compositions of the music within my own artist project, but there is an act of service, sharing art with the world. I hope the music I can make can be of solace to others, I hope they can feel seen when they listen to my lyrics, less alone.
Sharing our art with the world is incredibly important, we need this connection.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am becoming so excited for my self-titled album, “Samantha Marie” to be out in September of this year. From the lyrics that explore being an independent artist to being a capricorn, to the colors of the visuals, the album has these descriptive details of myself, and over time, it became the concept of the album, in a way that that I hope will allow others to recognize themselves in the music, as well. It feels like a piece of work that someone can hold onto, put in their pocket, and not forget, because it stuck with them. To me, that’s what some of my favorite artists do for me-their work is so visually and sonically aligned, that it sticks with me.
I have worked diligently, over the past year, writing, recording live instrumentation, such as cellos, violins, mandolins, and other elects to create the world for this record. When it is released in September, it will have spanned almost two years of work, including last year, which marked a cross country move from Los Angeles to New York City.
I’ve been releasing music since 2022, and It’s with a sense of deep respect for my past work, and experiences that have allowed me to develop as an artist, and as a songwriter. I think it feels really special, to be at a place where you feel especially confident in the work that you are putting out, which was why it felt right to self title this album.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve been living in Brooklyn now for almost half of a year, and it has been a lovely time exploring different coffee shops, cafes, bakeries, music venues, galleries, creative workshops, and more. I would take them to “September”, a hidden coffee shop in Bedstuy, where I’m based for the best iced latte. We would then walk around the brownstones, and head into upper Brooklyn to visit vintage clothing shops. Then, “Settepani bakery”, one of my favorite Italian bakeries for a ricotta croissant.
We would then go into the lower east side, and go to bookstores, and art galleries. We could see a matinee show, at the New York City ballet, or the “Drawing Room” to make an art collage, or to paint.
We could end the evening at Morandi, and then at the “Mezzrow” jazz club.
There are truly so many other different days I could create within the city, and I would. love to do this again with some of my other favorite cities, such as Paris, and London.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This question is giving me anxiety, because there are so many-which is a delightful thing to say, actually. I am so grateful for all of the creatives in my life, who constantly show me support, mentorship, love, and inspiration. I want to share my appreciation for the “Cloud Union” recording studio, in Brooklyn, and for Chris Gaskell, for creating a space that was home to a lot of special moments that you will hear on the album, “Samantha Marie”, coming out in September of this year. Working in this studio became a safe space for me to be vulnerable within my art, and Chris is an incredibly talented multidisciplinary artist who brought a lot of magic to my recent work.
