Meet Samantha Marie Saglibene | Singer, Songwriter, Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Marie Saglibene and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
This is such an important question! Living in Western culture, surrounded by “hustle” culture, I used to think that work in my life should always involve “accumulation”, “more”, or looked like a constant upward arrow of continued success. One of the joys of getting older, and turning 25 this year, was to see those habitual thought patterns break down. Having an inner abundance, not based off of conditions, societal views or standards, has really helped me have a new relationship with my work, where I can connect with it more. I have more freedom and space, knowing that I have already become everything I want to be.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always been a writer, and being immersed in the rich songwriting culture within Los Angeles, after moving here in 2021, has been something I am so grateful for. I began writing poetry, before I began songwriting, so what sets my solo-writing apart from others, is the poetic formats that my songs might take. I also enjoy writing other genres, such as pop, with co-writing groups. I am currently working on my first self-titled album, “Samantha Marie”, and will be releasing singles towards it throughout 2025! I think we are always changing, learning, growing, and that it doesn’t stop. What I learned to be the most true for this field of work, most recently, is that when all is said and done, you do it because you love it.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in West Hollywood, and some of my favorite things to do locally, are go to my favorite restaurants and coffee shops. Starting with coffee, I would say we could go to urthe cafe. We could shop around melrose, going to the vintage Realization Par store, or the melrose flea market, held on Sundays. We could then get brunch at Mauro cafe. Afternoon things to do could go from being in nature, and doing a Malibu hike, going to see hidden gem art galleries, doing a yoga class, a picnic at a park in Silverlake, there truly are so many ways a day could go! At night, we have to go to dinner at “horses” on Sunset, then get a drink at the Sunset Tower Hotel, Chateau Marmont, but you must end the night at “Jones”, my most favorite classic spot.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Yes! I want to dedicate my ShoutOut to an organization based in LA, called Insight LA. They are a wonderful group that offers meditation teachings, classes, and in multiple locations in Los Angeles, and online. The amount of unbiased encouragement, mentorship, and love I have found within Insight LA has been crucial for my momentum and connecting to both my writing, and my art, as well as facing the challenges of work and life balance.
I also want to shoutout my friends within the music industry here in Los Angeles, for constantly inspiring me, and anyone who hosts events geared towards the arts within LA, such as the “Pauhaus Gallery” Open Mic, “Pop Hangs”, and more. They are a gift, and work towards fostering a strong community within the arts, in Los Angeles.
