We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Caltagirone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We always vacationed in Palm Springs and loved the food, architecture + hotels, but felt like there was a gap in the retail space. To us, there wasn’t a shop selling Palm Springs souvenirs made locally/ by hand.

What should our readers know about your business?
Thick As Thieves was started by me and my husband in 2017. We packed up everything we owned and moved from the Midwest to beautiful Palm Springs, California to open their first brick and mortar boutique store. With a little budget and a lot of creativity, we created a highly curated shop of handmade goods, gifts, clothing, oddities and unique finds that blend industrial, primitive, modern and global styles.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
