We had the good fortune of connecting with Salvador Cerda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Salvador, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to have a bigger platform to help my community by giving back. Since I’ve been a business owner 04/01/2019 I have had the pleasure of hosting a toy drive, food drive and during covid-19 we donated 1000lbs of food to people who were struggling to make ends meet.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Everyone needs insurance but not everyone understands what exactly insurance is or what it can do for you. My team and I take pride in Educating, Empowering, and Elevating our customers knowledge with simple information to help them make a better decision. Educating our customers and having a genuine interest for their needs is what sets us apart from the competition. We have a fun family oriented environment that is concerned with our community. I got into the insurance business when one of my good friends told me that State Farm was a great company to work for and they had many growth opportunities. I jumped on board and my biggest challenge was the debt I had invited as a young adult. I had to get two jobs a full time and a part time for 2 years in order to pay my debt off and save enough money to start my own State Farm branch. In this process I learned that dreams do come true, but they come true when you work hard for them. Any obstacle can be overcome if you truly desire it.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend visiting from out of town I would make sure I take them to Agave Cafe, Birrieria Don Rafa and Breakfast Republic for breakfast. For lunch I would do Pizza at Pummaro, Thai food in Soi 30 and some delicious Poke from Blue Poke. Diner and drinks would be at Novo Brewery in Eastlake, CrabHut in downtown and Beshock Ramen ! For activities I love going to Potato Chip Mountain and the Fortuna trails, Coronado Beach and Balboa Park.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give a special shout-out to my biggest support group which was from my loving wife Frida and my former Boss/Mentor Tracey Rivera. If it wasn’t for their continuous support I would not have been able to get my business up and running.
