We had the good fortune of connecting with Ronda Cook and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ronda, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The reason behind starting my own business was to become my own boss, to secure the bag towards financial freedom, and to have the time and freedom to do what I want, when I want, without having to seek permission from someone else.

What should our readers know about your business?

My business is called Everything Daygo! Everything Daygo is a local business directory website, for San Diego county’s consumers and businesses.

Everything Daygo provides affordable advertising to local businesses in San Diego County. We help local businesses reach more local consumers online. We also provide an avenue for local consumers to find the best businesses, deals, and events in a one stop shop website.

The goal for Everything Daygo is to help the consumer and business owner save money. Everything Daygo is a source that provides coupon deals to consumers online, to help consumers save money while living in, visiting, or passing through San Diego, all while providing affordable advertising to local business owners.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The first place I would take them is to Mission Beach, Belmont Park. You can’t come to San Diego and not visit Belmont Park and walk the boardwalk. Then I would take them to the Hotel De Coronado, on Coronado Island to explore the beaches. Then I would take them to the San Diego zoo. San Diego’s dinner cruises are a must do when visiting the city. I’ll plan a dinner cruise to see the San Diego skyline during the sunset. I would then take my guest to Gaslamp Quarter to explore their eateries and night clubs. If my guest is into art and museums, I would take them to Balboa park to visit their many museums. On a lazy day, I would take my guest to the La Jolla Cove to watch the seals and the sunset.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?

I want to dedicate my shout-out to my two teenagers, Clarionna and Clarence III. I want to recognize my teenagers because they’ve been by my side through my failures and successes. As a single mother, I had to do whatever it took to be successful to take care of them on my own.

My teenagers saw me go from one nursing school to another, fail, graduate, start graduate school, and then a business.

My teenagers have been my cheerleaders since day one, and I appreciate them for that. My two teens want to see me win, and winning is what I plan to do, not only for me, but for them too!
