We had the good fortune of connecting with ROBERT MORGAN and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi ROBERT, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I view risk as a necessary evil in life. Without some form of risk we will never understand how far we can go in life our what our potential level is. One of the biggest risks I took in my own life was packing up and selling everything I own then joining the Navy because of the lack of progress in my own career while I was in the Midwest. This risk of a four or more year commitment outside of my career and comfort zone took my life and career to a new level. This ofcourse is me now being a doctor in my field and more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I started my career while in undergrad at Dickinson state university in north Dakota. This journey started simply helping someone in class with a difficult project. This person turned out to be the webmaster of the school’s website who then hired me on as an intern. After graduating he left and I filled his role. Following years I went on to another university in Indiana then a private company. This company inspired me to join the navy after which I ended in 2019 and started working for beyond Ordinary Software Solutions which has grown my experience and career in numerous ways

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite restaurants for sure in San Diego are Rock steady Jamaican restaurant and Alexander on 30th both of which I have been going to since my active duty time. I enjoy salsa dancing and highly recommend Tango Del Rey in Pacific beach and my favorite surfing locations are la Jolla shores, Oceanside pier and del mar 17th post.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Soldiers who Salsa ( now dissolved) and one more wave. Both of these groups have helped me in my healing journey after two accidents I experienced while in the navy.
