Meet Red Rapinan | DJ, Dancer, Producer, Artist, Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Red Rapinan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Red, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
The most important lesson I’ve learned so far in my creative career is to just be 100% authentically you in everything you do and to have intention in everything you do. When you trust and allow yourself to do this, yes it’s hard, but it also eliminates the idea of competition and instead focuses on your being/brand.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is simple; I am Red. I can confidently say I’m always 100% me in everything I do and create as an artist.
Now with that being said, I’m no where near where I want or need to be, but I’m on that beautiful baby steps journey called the process which everyone goes through. So how did I get here today? By doing what everyone else does, except I just never stop pushing forward in self development and intention within my creative vision.
It’s never easy but when you have such a purpose and calling from God and been given the gift of a vision, any obstacles start to matter less and less and is overcome by the importance of the cause.
In my particular case, this cause that is part of my brand and my story I like to call Seraphim. I’m a cancer survivor from acute lymphocytic leukemia and by miracle am I here today sharing my story and spreading the word of God through music, dance, art, creativity, etc. Seraphim are the highest ranking angels in Christianity and were often depicted or described as red angels with the sole purpose of spreading the word of God, no more, no less.
This is something that really resonates with me and is something that I believe is my purpose and “brand” here on Earth.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a visiting close friend, I would probably first just host them and share home cooked food, laughs, etc. with them. Then as a DJ, I would for sure take them to maybe a concert of a mutual favorite artist or a good nightclub I enjoy or even one of my shows if I had any. In terms of food, we would definitely have to hit up some of my favorite restaurants which all have my favorite food that is steak; Amalfi for Italian, La Conde for more luxury, Benihana for hibachi, or I can also just fire up the grill at home and make gourmet steaks with accompanying sides which I do all the time. Lastly, if time permits I would maybe reserve a full day to go to a theme park like Universal Studios or Disneyland/California Adventure which is always fun.
For me, the most fun experiences usually in some way relate to music and/or food as I am a music lover and a food lover. This is exciting because most people are music and food lovers so especially with a friend it’s much easier to connect. Music and food is a very important medium of connection as music shares stories, emotions, and experiences like no other, and sharing food or eating with someone brings a sense of family and community between people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There’s so many groups and individuals that are responsible for where I’m at today but if I had to round it down to one it would of course be the most important and only God who has blessed me with this life that I walk and continues to bless me with every opportunity and experience presented in front of me.
