Meet Ranika Koneru | Digital Nomad Mentor & Retreat Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ranika Koneru and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ranika, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I knew the 9-5 was getting to me and I decided to take an opportunity on an IG ad I saw learning about high ticket affiliate marketing with my now mentor, Alexa. This led me into learning about shifting from an employee to entrepreneur mindset and to stop trading dollars for hours. Flash forward, I’ve been present in the nomad community and attended Bansko Nomad Fest after going to Rio Carnival in 2022. During Carnival, I created a Whatsapp group of people interested in coming out, a lot of them shared they would be interested in coming out for the next one. I loved it so much that I knew I would want to go back. At Bansko, I was surrounded by Entrepreneurs and motivational speakers in the nomad niche. The idea of creating a community for nomads around cultural festivals was born and I started working on Cloud Connections so that anyone curious about the location independent lifestyle and cultural festivals would be able to experience it with a community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Cloud Connections is a cultural immersion retreat company focusing on helping people embrace the nomadic lifestyle and create connections through focus on community and embracing the most unique festivals the world has to offer. I keep putting myself in the face of nomad events and knocking on doors to see if hopefully some of them say yes. Today, I’m about to go to Outpost in Canggu where I’ll be sharing a presentation about the Greatest Festivals in the World. I’m here to share awareness and help people make travel plans by basing it around some of the most incredible events the world has to offer whether they go with the tailored experienced with Cloud Connections or just on their own. I’m still learning and growing and things are definitely not easy, but they are rewarding. I want people to know that you need to go for your dreams. There is always a way and if you don’t seize the moment now, when will you? Come up with the things you enjoy and start from there. I believe in you, now it’s time for YOU to believe in you.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This one’s a little tough as I’m a digital nomad and don’t really have a set place. I’ve made lists in places like Lisbon, Medellin, Bali, Chiang Mai and Rio as well as local friends in these areas. I’d reach out to the locals and have my friend tag along in the hidden gems of the city.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanted to shout out Caitlyn, IG:the.wanderlust.times She’s one of the first content creators/influencers I’ve ever worked with and can not express how down to earth and easy she is to get along with and how I’m so excited to have her come out to my upcoming Lantern Festival Celebration.
