Meet Randy Wasani Guerrero | Fashion Designer & Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Randy Wasani Guerrero and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Randy Wasani Guerrero, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
We spent years of our lives working hard for others. We learned and experienced so much over those years, we eventually realized that if we work this hard for others, we can work this hard for ourselves and have more control over how we spend our time and who we spend it with. After a couple years of research and development we decided to take the leap, pursue our own passions, and turn our dreams into reality. At the beginning of 2021 my business partner and I both quit our jobs to focus our full attention on building WE ARE WHOA ENT., LLC

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At WE ARE WHOA ENT. we hand-design every hat and design every piece of clothing ourselves so we can make sure each one is completely unique and special. Our goal is to create one-of-a-kind designs and create unforgettable experiences centered around the word “WHOA.” I never went to college for graphic design and never got any degrees in business. Once I found my passion in life I just dedicated my time and focus on creating, experimenting, and expressing those ideas, and was sure to share the progress with others along the way.
In 2010 at the age of 13 is when I started writing and recording my own music and the responses I received from my peers are a big reason why I continued to pursue my interests in fashion and entertainment. In 2015 I started designing clothing to represent my music and that is where the brand WHOA began. After creating the first official collection of merchandise in 2018 we decided to incorporate as WE ARE WHOA ENT., LLC
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is every failure and mistake is just as important as every success. If you beat yourself up too much over any one thing you risk self detriment and might lose your motivation to continue moving forward. The pressures around business can build quickly but practicing patience with yourself and others will aid in critical thinking and finding the solutions to problems rather than panicking, feeling stuck, and or giving up entirely.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Places: Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach Boardwalk, downtown La Holla, Mission Bay, Spanish Village Art Center & Seaport Village
I have a ton of friends that are DJs that play at hundreds of venues throughout the city. I always have a few DJ friends I can recommend depending on which weekend it is.
Church of Music is a fantastic group that organizes live music events every Sunday throughout San Diego.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate my shoutout to all the teachers, friends, and family members who supported since day 1, who recognized the potential, and who encouraged my personal growth as an artist and an entrepreneur.
