We had the good fortune of connecting with Rae Okino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rae, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
We are all faced with moments in life where a risk presents itself, everything in our gut says do it. AND then the nerves kick in, the overthinking mind, full of thoughts that aren’t even our own original thoughts, I often think of risks like a cliff jump and metaphorically a swan is always there to catch me. Risks are required in life, from small to big risks how we approach them presents our greatest gifts in life. From having a hard conversation and letting ppl know how I feel, to big career changes. I approach risks head on. Failure is an inevitable part of the life process in that same vein, so is success. No one and nothing is perfect. I seek to live a full life and express myself and share my joy. Risks play a major part in my creative process & life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am an original artist and human, always have been. My expression is my own, I create a world with my art and music and share that with my peeps. Obviously the path has NOT been easy, lol. So worth it tho. I’ve learned to just keep going and stay moving forward in authenticity. I would like the world to know joy, expression and connection through my brand & story. I seek to comfort souls.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
To the beach. We would hit the store on the way for provisions, yummy fruits, chocolate, something hearty and grounding for the sunset and some flowers to offer the ocean. And hell, a boozy booch or two, some ganga and a lil speaker with one of my playlist for the beach. I usually go to the beach in Malibu cause it’s got that cliffside nature vibe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout Out to my dearly departed sister Ariel who was always a huge support for my music and art. When I want to give up I still hear her words of encouragement ringing loud and clear, KEEP GOING, KEEP CREATING. Also want to shout out my husband Bobby Saint who is an incredibly talented Musician and Artist. His music is so uplifting and he puts his heart and soul into what he does. I’m so proud of the man and creator that he is. He tells me my music is dope when i play him ideas and gets me out of my head and back on the creative path. I am surrounded with love, too many to mention here. You know who you are and what you mean to me. So grateful to my Family and Friends, they are all sooooo powerful and boss.
