Hi Jayson, what role has risk played in your life or career?
We think most would agree that risk is associated with all aspects of any decision-making process. People deal with risk every day; some risks are small, some big. Risks can be financial or strategic, and can often affect individuals and businesses in the long-term scheme of things.

Though taking a risk can be intimidating, doing so offers countless advantages. That’s certainly how we viewed things as we took the leap to start our business. Leaving behind a consistent income, benefits, and all the other aspects of corporate America can be intimidating. But looking back, we’re so happy we made this decision. We pursued our vision and have been able to help people enjoy their milestone events, which is something we truly love doing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We own an event production and custom decoration business. One of our core values, and what sets us apart, is our dedication to going above and beyond for each client. We often get feedback from our clients that their experience with us was phenomenal when compared other vendors. And that’s not to say that other vendors did not meet the client’s expectations, it’s that the clients have been blown away by what we bring to the entire event experience. This type of feedback is something that we’re definitely proud of and that we strive for in each and every event.

Looking back, this has absolutely been a challenging—though rewarding—journey. We offer completely custom decorations for each event. Significant research and development was required to streamline this process. We took things one day at a time and worked hard to be better every day. Viewing things from a big picture perspective can be overwhelming, so we set small milestones, which definitely helped. Along the way, we’ve learned so many new things. We built our first website, we’ve learned new software functionalities, and we’ve expanded our event production capabilities, particularly where balloon art and large scale production are involved.

We hope that our brand and story will serve as inspiration to others. We are committed to creating picture perfect events to ensure special moments are as stress free as possible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is tough, because there are so many! Our favorite place is Laguna Beach. We love the artsy vibes and sunset views. Disney is right down the road, and the San Diego Zoo isn’t too far. For shopping and dining, we’d probably head to the Irvine Spectrum. If traffic isn’t too bad, we’d also venture up to Los Angeles to see the Hollywood sign and visit the Griffith Observatory. We’d like to wrap up the day in LA at Santa Monica.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, we have to shoutout our family and friends who supported us during the early stages of getting started. So much went into building our website, contracts, and other behind the scenes things that might not be initially considered.

And of course, our clients who have amazing visions that we help bring to life!

My wife would also credit Tori Dunlap, business owner and author of Her First 100k. My background is in finance and business, and my wife’s background is in law. My wife loves Ms. Dunlap’s podcast and investing advice, which contributed a lot to our financial and investment discussions, helped us get to a place where we felt comfortable scaling our business.
