We had the good fortune of connecting with Olivia Hops and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Olivia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success is my mindset. I have always had the mindset of “If I want it, I’m going to get it, no matter what.” I have had several different careers in my life and have truly accomplished every single thing that I have ever put my mind to.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Bliss & Bridal is a new boutique bridal shop that specializes in affordable luxury. Our goal is to offer the highest quality dresses at the lowest prices so that any bride, regardless of her budget, can walk down the aisle in her dream dress.

Bliss & Bridal is not your average bridal shop, and for many reasons. Not only does our affordability set us apart from other shops, but our customization does as well. All of our gowns are completely customizable, and we also offer fully custom gowns. On top of that, our gowns are handmade to a bride’s exact body measurements. Most bridal shops take 3-4 measurements and orders a dress based on the standard size the bride is closest to. This results in costly alteration needs. At Bliss & Bridal, we take 15 different measurements and our dresses are handmade to a bride’s exact body, reducing or even eliminating the need for any pricey alterations. Finally, our turnaround time on dresses in unmatched. Our dresses, even fully custom ones, arrive in just 1-3 months, whereas traditional shops usually take 6-9 months. This allows short engagements to not be a problem for us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone visits me in San Diego during the spring/summer, there are a few places I must take them to. First, I’d absolutely take them to a Padres game. Petco Park is an incredible experience and the views or amazing. Next, I’d take them to Farmer & The Seahorse in La Jolla for brunch. Their bananas fosters french toast is a must-try. If they’re here on a Friday night, I’d take them to Cruisin Grand in Escondido to stroll down Grand Avenue and look at classic American cars. Another fun eatery I’d take them to is The Yellow Deli in Vista. Not only is their food delicious and made in-house, the restaurant looks like a tree house and is just a fun place to hang out. It’s also open 24/5! Next, I’d take them on a trip to the Del Mar Racetrack for some horse races. We could grab lunch at The Brigantine beforehand on their balcony that overlooks the track and chow down on the best fish tacos you could ever eat.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my husband, Alex. As an autistic person, I need help in my day to day life in certain areas. He takes care of me and picks up my slack so that I can live out my dreams. He also is always there to help me with whatever business adventure I’m on. Without him, I honestly would not be able to function, let alone be as successful as I am.
