Meet Noelle Roth | Actor, Dancer, Singer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Noelle Roth and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Noelle, what makes you happy? Why?
Performing makes me happy. Singing, dancing, and acting bring me so much joy, and getting to share that joy with an audience is truly a magical experience. Dance was my first love. I started in dance classes at just two years old, because I wanted to be just like Ann Miller, Fred Astaire, Eleanor Powell, and all of the other wonderful dancers I watched in old movies growing up. Tap was always my favorite, but I also studied ballet, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. Dance made me happier than anything. When I was a little older, I also got into singing and acting as well. I love stepping onto a stage and making an audience feel things. Whether that’s joy, sadness, anger, or any other emotion, I love connecting with the audience. I realized this at a very young age, and I knew that theatre and film is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to be a performer. I was different than most children; I was an incredibly hard worker and very focused on my craft, even at the age of 6 or 7. I danced for hours and hours every week and loved every second. I knew in my heart that I was meant to do this for the rest of my life. As I got a bit older, I fell in love with singing and acting too. Once I graduated high school, I became quite scared and started doubting whether pursuing a career in film and theatre was wise. Both of my parents were performers, so I understood how difficult it can be to make a living in this profession. Although I was frightened, I decided to follow my dreams. I love creating too much to ever do anything else. It’s my passion. I graduated from college in May of 2021 with my degree in Theatre Arts. I’ve been in many shows, recorded an album with my dad and sister, made films, and won BroadwayWorld’s Next on Stage: Dance Edition. I’m currently playing Suzy in ACTC’s The Marvelous Wonderettes, and I have some more exciting projects on the horizon. I’ve been blessed with a ton of opportunities, but like any other actor, I face a lot of rejection. Daily. It’s tough, but something I’ve learned is that I’m not ever going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s ok. I’m learning to brush off rejection and simply move on to the next bigger and better opportunity. The most important thing I’ve learned is to always be prepared, work hard, and treat everyone around you with kindness. I focus on doing those three things, and I find peace in the knowledge that what is meant for me will not miss me. I focus on the work and enjoying the journey.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love taking people to the Orange Circle. With all the cute places to eat, the shopping, and the beautiful fountain, it’s the perfect place to spend the afternoon. Urth Caffe is one of my favorite places to stop for coffee. Once a year in the late summer, there’s a street fair at the circle that is so much fun! When in SoCal, you absolutely must spend time at the beach. My personal favorite is Laguna beach. I love looking around for little private beaches where there are fewer people. I love nature, so in addition to visiting the beach, I love to take people on hikes with me! Crystal Cove State Park and Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park are a couple of the best SoCal hiking spots. Great views and great exercise. Another place I love to take people is, of course, DISNEYLAND! I love feeling like a kid and experiencing the magic. My personal favorite rides are Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Duke’s in Huntington Beach or The Cliff in Laguna are a couple of my favorite places to take people for dinner. LACMA, The Getty, and the Griffith Observatory are also all essential day trips when you’re in SoCal!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my parents Brad and Linda, Sophie (my sister), and my Nana for always being there for me and supporting me as I follow my dreams. An extra shoutout has to go to Sophie for being my photographer, DP, reader, and my creative partner in crime! I also want to give a shoutout to my best friend, Amanda, for being the most encouraging and supportive friend I could ask for.
