Meet Niobe Alexandra | Brand Designer + Creative Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Niobe Alexandra and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Niobe, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, there wasn’t much of a thought-out plan, it sort of just happened. At the time, I was working for the NHS and started doing a bit of graphic design on the side, mainly as a creative outlet. Before I knew it, what began as a small passion project started gaining momentum, and I found myself running a design studio almost by accident.
I eventually left my job and dove headfirst into building a business with absolutely no experience, just a lot of curiosity, intuition, and a deep love for creating meaningful visuals. Looking back, I think that’s what made it so special, it was never forced or strategic; it was something that grew naturally out of doing what I loved.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My work really sits at the intersection of design and emotion. Through Studio Kynd, I help soulful founders translate who they are into visual identities and experiences that feel deeply aligned, it’s not just about how a brand looks, but how it feels. I see design as a form of storytelling, an energetic bridge between intention and expression.
What sets my work apart is the depth behind it. Every brand I create is rooted in meaning, rituals, seasons, values, and the quiet details that make something truly timeless. I’m not interested in trends or fast design; I’m interested in creating brands that stand the test of time because they’re built from truth.
Getting here definitely wasn’t easy. I started with no formal design background, just curiosity, intuition, and a deep desire to create. I taught myself everything while working full-time in the NHS, often learning through trial and error and investing a lot of time. There were plenty of moments of doubt, but I kept following what felt right, and that inner guidance has led me to where I am today.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that slow growth is still growth. Building something with intention takes time but that’s where the magic is. I’ve also learned that alignment matters more than anything; when you create from a place of authenticity, the right clients, opportunities, and energy always follow.
What I want the world to know is that Studio Kynd was built from heart. It’s not just a design studio, it’s a space for conscious, creative evolution. I’m proud that what started as a small side project has become something that allows me to connect with incredible people and tell their stories in a way that feels human, emotional, and beautifully considered.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I’ve lived a fairly nomadic life over the past few years, let’s do a Tulum edition, a place that’s always felt like both an escape and a creative recharge for me.
Mornings would begin with yoga at Holistika, followed by a smoothie bowl at Raw Love, the perfect way to ground before the day unfolds. Afterwards, we’d spend the afternoon drifting between turquoise waters and sun-soaked conversations at Hotel Panamera, my go-to beach club for a laid-back yet beautifully designed atmosphere.
For after-work drinks, we would head to NABOA Hotel, it has this refined yet relaxed energy, ideal for golden-hour cocktails. Dinner would be something special, maybe Nomade, where the food, the music, and the candlelight all feel like a little ceremony of their own.
Midweek, we’d escape the usual rhythm with a day trip to Valladolid, wandering pastel streets, boutique shopping, and finding hidden cafés before dipping into one of the nearby cenotes to cool off. Each one feels like its own little world.
The rest of the week would be a blend of rest and exploration, maybe a temazcal ceremony, a long swim at Cenote Escondido, and a final dinner under the stars. Tulum has this way of slowing you down, softening you, and reminding you that beauty lives in the smallest, most intentional moments.
That’s the Tulum I’d want my best friend to experience, equal parts rest, ritual, and inspiration.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my partner, Charles (by_calexander). He’s been there from the very beginning, encouraging me to post my first designs online, cheering me on through every high, and grounding me through every low. Running a business can feel isolating at times, but he’s always been the calm in the chaos, making me cups of tea, helping me brainstorm ideas, travelling the world with me, and constantly reminding me of what really matters.
I’d also say a quiet shoutout goes to every client, mentor, and creative I’ve crossed paths with along the way. Each one has taught me something about trust, collaboration, and the beauty of building something meaningful from the heart.
