Meet Nikki Schiffman | Wardrobe Stylist & Boutique Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Nikki Schiffman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nikki, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Ever since I was a young girl, I have always dreamed of having my own fashion boutique. I have always had a fascination with the fashion world and the creativity behind every designers collection. I have experience working in retail during college, and later becoming a personal and editorial stylist. There is never really a “perfect” time to start a new business you just have to go with your gut and what your life allows. For me, my kids were getting more independent and a need for elevated fashion in the Eastlake/Otay Ranch area prompted me to start Nikki Blake Booutique. Being a fashion lover and good shopper, I was always hoping that more fashionable stores would start opening up in these areas but they unfortunately never did. Also with Covid just barely behind us, businesses were actually diminshing even more. I thought what a better time then now to start the business of my dreams.
What should our readers know about your business?
Nikki Blake is a small woman owned fashion boutique. Our products are carefully curated for todays fashionable woman. We sell clothing, jewelry, sleepware, candles, self-care, and novelty items.
Business challenges have been hiring employees and learning customer demographics. We are still currently challenged with hiring employees but are hoping that with the holidays radiply approaching there will be an influx of applications.
We have also had to learn how to change our product buying guidlines. We opening with a precise customer in mind but have learned to tweak it by listening to our customers needs. So far it has been very successful and receptive.
