Meet Mandii Kantor and Nikki Oakland | Founders of Boho Picnic Babes

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mandii Kantor and Nikki Oakland and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nikki & Mandii, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The idea came up when our partners’ birthdays were coming up. They have the same birthday and we thought it would be a really nice experience since we’ve never had one before. We put it together, bought the decor, created the backdrop, and it turned out amazing! We didn’t think that we would want to start a business doing it, but we joked how it would be kind of cool to set them up for other people as well. Eventually, we decided to put the idea into action and started Boho Picnic Babes. We wanted to create an affordable way for people to enjoy the outdoors with their loved ones in a comfortable, picture-worthy way. Outdoor shoots are a great way to capture memories in nature and what better way than a beautiful setting to sit and enjoy it. We had such a great time at our picnic and we wanted to make it available to other people to have a similar experience.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets us apart from the other picnic companies is that we give a full experience without having to spend a ton of money. Our clients’ experiences are very important to us. We have 4 different options including a basic package for under $200. We also have different options for charcuterie boards including a dog specific one so you can bring your furbaby along with you for your picnic. We also have different themes that you can choose from to help create the ambiance you’re looking for.

We are continuously trying to come up with different add-ons and options so our clients can customize their experience some including photographer, drone footage and different card games, We take pride that we are an all inclusive business that welcome’s everyone to book their next anniversary, baby shower, bachelorette party, birthday, bridal shower, brand launch, brunch, company event, date night, gender reveal, proposal and enjoy our luxury boho picnics!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
San Diego is one of the most unique and eclectic cities around with so many different spots to fulfill whatever mood you’re in. So the question of “favorite spot in the city'” could possibly be one of the toughest questions to answer. If we had to choose our favorite spot at the moment we would say Little Italy. In little itlay you can go from a trendy brunch, to a dive bar to an authentic Italian dinner with some of the best wine around,

Another favorite spot of ours in the city is Noth Park. North park has some of the best mircrobrewiers and restaurants around. The best thing about North Park is just like Little Italy there are so many different options that can fulfill your taste of food and drinks.

We are extremely lucky to be able to create luxury picnics in one of the most gorgeous cities in America. One of our favorite spots that gives you an amazing view would have to be Kate Sessions park. This location gives you an ariel view of the San Diego Bay. while soaking up the sun. Also, to all our dog lovers, this park not only has the best views but also lets you bring your furbest friend to enjoy the experience with you.
