We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica A Kastle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an urban fantasy and dark fantasy writer I blend reality and fantasy together with a mix of creatures from mythology. There’s mystery, romance, elements of horror, and the supernatural. I’m very excited that my newest release, Silver Tears, book two of the Moonlight Territory is my seventh published novel and later this year Vengeance Curse, book four of the Cascade Saga will be published. The road wasn’t easy. After I quit my job I faced backlash, self doubt, and criticism. I overcame those challenges by keeping my focus on my goals and achieving those goals.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The first thing to do is see a desert sunset, the colors are phenomenal. Since I live near Route 66, we would drive the historical road and visit the eclectic antique shops, diners, and coffee shops. I’m originally from the mountains so go to Lone Pine to see Mt. Whitney and the Sierra Nevada is a must, and if it’s summer, it’s cooler. To kickback and relax, we’d hangout in my backyard with music playing and food cooking on the grill.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would have to give a huge shoutout to my husband and family. They answer my endless questions, critique book blurbs, taglines, book covers, and give honest feedback. They make the hard parts easier.
