Meet Mike Eastin | Real Estate Agent & Notary Loan Signing Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mike Eastin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mike, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Life is constantly changing. And because of that, the way you view life and how you prioritize things also changes. What was important to me as a single man at 25 years old is vastly different than what’s important to me today as a 35-year-old married, father of 3 kids.
I feel that at my core, my view of work remains the same. I’ve always had a strong work ethic and a drive to master whatever I set my mind to. And when that’s your main focus in life, you’re able to devote everything to it.
Today, things are different. While still thoroughly enjoying my work, I view it as a means to an end. My main focus in life is molding and shaping my boys into the sort of men they will respect when they’re older. While this includes instilling in them a strong work ethic, it also includes the belief that there is more to life than work and money.
This balance was the biggest drive behind getting into my current career. I wanted something that would allow me to provide a comfortable life for my family but would also allow me to be present for my family on a regular basis.

What should our readers know about your business?
Getting to where I am today has not been without its challenges.
Most currently, I am a licensed Realtor and Notary Loan Signing Agent. However, prior to this I was the Owner/Operator of a post-construction cleaning business. To date, I have been in business for myself for over a decade.
I have a great sense in pride in the cleaning business I began back in 2013. Without any prior experience in the industry, I was able to grow this into a thriving six-figure business within my first two years.
My passion was always in home construction and design. So, I knew that I eventually wanted to sell homes.
Any Real Estate Agent will tell you that building your own brand and establishing yourself in the industry is one of the most difficult things you can do. Initially, it is a constant uphill battle. And if I’m being honest, at times it was very discouraging.
Everybody has a “why” behind what they do. Whatever it is, this is the thing that motivates you to continue. For me, my greatest motivation was my family. Giving up was simply not an option. I think that once you develop this mindset, it helps carry you through the dark times. Instead of giving into self-pity, you switch gears and begin to think of ways to improve the situation.
I’m extremely proud of where I am today. What I’d love people to know about me and my business is that I’ve worked hard to get where I am. I approach nothing halfway. When you work with me, you are always going to get the absolute best from me, because I expect the best from myself.
You’re also going to get a real down-to-earth guy. I truly believe that strong relationships are at the core of any successful business. My goal with all of my clients is to keep them as clients forever.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Southern California, this is a tough one. There’s just so much to do…
Starting local in Temecula, one of my favorite things to do is visit the wineries. This is hands down one of the most relaxing and enjoyable things to do with guests. The scenery is incredible and most of the wineries are family friendly. Personally, we like Leoness, Weins, Altisima, and Peltzer.
Breakfast or brunch at Toast is a must. And coffee and acai bowls at Better Buzzed. Old Town Temecula is another great spot. The nightlife is awesome and there’s no shortage of restaurants and shops. For food, we usually visit 1909, Crush & Brew, The Goat & Vine, Public House, or the two hidden speakeasies. Old Town Sweet Shop is where we usually end the night so the kids can pick out a toy or a treat.
On hot days (which are most days), the Cove at Pechanga Resort/Casino feels like you’re visiting an all-inclusive resort.
We’re big beach people so we’re always taking our guests there.
Our go-to is Coronado Beach. It’s a little bit of a trek driving there. but it’s worth it. The beach is beautiful and rarely crowded. One of our favorite things to do is drive through the local neighborhoods looking at homes.
Del Mar is usually on the itinerary. Lunch at Board and Brew. Dinner at Monarch Ocean Pub, Jakes, or Poseidon.
Evenings watching the sunset from the beach or at Sunset Cliffs. The Seaport in San Diego has a lot to offer as well.
If your guests have kids, the options are limitless. For us, we usually hit Belmont Park in Mission Bay, San Diego Zoo, Safari Park in Escondido, and of course there’s always Disneyland.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, my biggest shoutout goes to my wife. I would not be where I am today without her support. She has always been my greatest source of advice and encouragement. While working insanely hard to care for our 3 kids, she also manages to support my business in practical ways.
I’d also like to give a special shoutout to my parents and my grandmother.
My dad is one of those guys that is just good at everything. To a large extent, I attribute my view of work to the values he instilled in me as a child. My mom is the most nurturing, caring person I know. Her love and devotion to her family impressed on me the importance of always putting family first. To this day, my grandma continues to be my sounding board for just about everything. From a young age, she took a special interest in shaping me into the man I am today. Her wisdom and experience have been extremely valuable to me.
