We had the good fortune of connecting with Marisol Grier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marisol, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Being a realtor allows me to come into contact with many people and has allowed me another avenue of making connections in my community. Community is something I’ve always felt strong about and have taken on many roles whether it be heading up the neighborhood watch, getting others to come together for a 4th of July block party, or spreading Christmas cheer through my annual Christmas event where we have donated to charity’s helping teen moms. Because I get to build relationships through being a realtor I find it easy to marry my two passions which are people and community. I started my career in real estate out of necessity, due too a health emergency, where i had to create another stream of revenue for my family. With risk , the old adige applies, no risk no reward, there’s no guarantees in life. With family, Teaching them the value of loving themselves and learning that they are a leader in there own life. The belief that people have in me, to entrust me with staying with them and guiding them every step of the way. No choice , can’t give up!I have found, i have a love for what i do . My point of view when it comes from balance from my life experience , when i was young , i was a single teen mom , then later being married ,priorities my children staying at home with them .I’m grateful for my family, business, gives me satisfaction and balance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is a genuine drive to want to help others. The housing market in CA can be challenging and daunting at times so being able to help families through such a major life decision truly brings me joy. I believe I am part of a community that is a niche that is unique because we are a business however for me my clients are not a transaction. They become a part of my life. Once the transaction is over our relationship is not. It is a small business where you have to be creative, think outside of the box and I am here for people. It is such an incredible bond that gets formed and it is the most humbling moment when I am chosen to represent a client. It truly is a privilege and an honor. I am Grateful for what I do.
Thats why i seek out small businesses and believe that they are part of the vital fabric that makes up our communities. it is our responsibility to cheer for them, frequent them, buy from them. They bring charm, vibrancy and enhance their surroundings by bringing there style, personality via the products they sell, bake, cook, grow, create. Just as in real estate no one agent is the same. We too are a niche and unique I know how special it is to be a part of this collective group of individuals.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a Cali girl no doubt born and raised there’s no place like Southern California… It’s so iconic! There are too many places but I will try to keep it short… well close to home.
Let’s start with historical landmark (literally 6 minutes away from me) The Langham Hotel in Pasadena. You will definitely find me there sometimes either enjoying their afternoon tea, enjoying the architecture, horseshoe garden, or stop by for ladies libations at the Langham as my girlfriends would say!
Another Beautiful must visit would be the The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens, for me there is nothing like enjoying green space and this has world renowned themed gardens this has all my favorites gardens, art and stunningly beautiful for all your senses.t my love for some shopping vintage with a touch of whimsy! These two are small businesses, women owned and I just adore them
Mary Lane Mercantile in San Gabriel & Simply Fresh in San Marino
Finally have to shout out to Caramba where “Sammy” the original bartender makes a perfectly sweet & creamy Pina Colada!!! The best in the SGV located in Alhambra!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without hesitation, my shoutout goes to my family! They have been there every step of the way rooting for me and encouraging me when things haven’t been the easiest. My kids unknowingly push me to be better everyday. I want to be a good role model and show them anything is possible, no matter what stage of life you are in.
