Meet Lynn Mulhern | Executive Director feline rescue

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lynn Mulhern and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lynn, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
It’s important to be open to change. Opportunities present themselves, and if you averse to risk taking, you will often lose some of the best options for moving forward in your life or career. Without risks or change, you often can’t reach goals you desire. Success is not about being spot on or perfect, but having tried something and learned from it. Failure should not be seen as a negative, but a step towards greater success That approach to risk enabled me to establish a presence in the San Diego community to rescue, provide sanctuary, rehabilitate, and provide medical and trap/neuter/release expertise to assist cats and people every day

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Community Cat Foundation was established to fill a need where none existed. My experience in healthcare, the design/build industry, and as a pet parent enabled me to create a sanctuary for cats where I rescue, rehabilitate and provide trap/neuter/ release services at no charge to stray and Feral cats and kittens. My organization has done an amazing job assisting the community and cats, and is known for doing what we say we will. We have saved cats and kittens from terrible illness and injury, and have improved the community in which they live by providing care and food. We are a resource for the community at large, and assist people with cat problems every single.day. We have become a rescue partner to local shelters, who call on us for assistance, Creativity, accomplishing what we promise, and being able to think on the fly, has set my organization apart from other rescues. We are dedicated to the community, to the cats, and we demonstrate that every day with our actions.. Has it been easy? Absolutely not.. Fortunately I have the energy and skills to make it work. My support team is awesome. Lessons for the world? Don’t give up. Seek opportunities and open doors that present themselves. Partner with people who show up in your life as authentic
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Life can be hectic. Downtime is precious. Spending time in nature is relaxing and renewing. What better way to show someone you love being with them then to spend time listening to them as you walk on the beach or hike in a forest. I would rent a B&B, Fill the cabinets with nourishing food, and plan a self-care retreat. Skiing in winter, hiking in summer, and exploring the local community are all on the itinerary. Jacuzzi optional 🙂
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The quote “it takes a village” is accurate in almost any venture. Despite having unique life experiences, reasonably good skills, and the ability to problem solve, my success in rescue comes from the team effort of people with whom I have aligned. Deborah Ann Flint is a special person to me. Her experience in rescue, her guiding friendship, and her unwavering commitment to helping cats has been of immeasurable value to me.
