We had the good fortune of connecting with Lucero Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lucero, what role has risk played in your life or career?
It’s funny but I never realized I was risky until people started telling me I was, I guess that means I’m a natural at it. While I try my best to be a responsable person in everything I do, I just like grabbing opportunities and try things when I think I can do them, to me the worst that can happen is you have the experience and you learn and grow throug them. Pondering on it I think it was my mom who influenced and encourage that in me since I was very young and I’m very grateful for that, sure there’s been some disappointments but for the most it has largely help me achieve many things , have lots of great experiences and grow character, I think that thanks to it I can look back and be happy about all the things I’ve done so far and it also helps me stay young at heart willing to do much more in the future. Maybe needless to say but Thank you God because my Guardian Angel has had some hard working times!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m excited to give San Diego women the wonderful oportunity of having an experienced fashion designer work on their attire, no matter what special the occasion. All of my designs are unique and exclusively designed for every client.

When I started working as a designer probably the hardest part was getting people to trust in my work and getting people to know me. That normally takes a few years so there were some struggles for sure, but the experience I gained gave me a lot of confidence and skills that I’ve used to keep me going. Now when I look back, I can see my evolution as a person and as a designer. I’m proud of all the efforts I made and grateful to God for all the support I received on my path. I look forward to creating long relationships with new clients here.

I feel very fortunate that God brought me to a place where there are so many organizations with opportunities to serve, and I’m hopeful I will have the chance to make a difference with my work.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would defenetly take her/him to my favorite coffee shops, the town where Im from produces coffee so I’m into it big time and when I first move here one of the first things i did was find good coffee places: elixir at la joya, brakers at the highlands in carmel valley , blue bottle, and Papalecos in little Italy. For breakfast we would go to Sugar and Scribe, take a walk around the shops and the boulevard at la Joya, to Beautiful Balboa park to walk around the park and visit one or two museums, with some luck there would be a concert going on at the shell and we would grab late dinner at fun Little Italy. Plenty to do in this town for at least a couple days, my other favorite spots are amazing Coronado Island where you can easily spend afternoon and evenning just walking up and down visiting the fun shops, go tour the gorgeous Coronado hotel, have a drink at their bar and maybe dinner at one of the best mexican restaurants i’ve found (hidden gem) Serrano’s or if we were looking for a great evenning view Peohi”s. Hard to make time for everything but the zoo and the bird cages in there are one of my favorite spots to spend time and connect with animals which I LOVE, the safari museum is also a very good way to do that and depending of the season a kayak tour to enjoy the great ocean here would be a great choice.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve been so blessed in my life to have many people who have supported me a lot but I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my late parents who were amazing supporters with their unconditional love and faith in me.
