We had the good fortune of connecting with Lourdes Rotell and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lourdes, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
The saying “Entrepreneurship is a lonely road” is undoubtedly a commonly mentioned one.
I firmly believe that leading a solitary life as an entrepreneur is a choice.
From my experience as an entrepreneur, one of the most important decisions I have made that has greatly contributed to the growth of my business has been to seek out and create connections.
Connections through which I have been able to break out of routine, be inspired by new and fresh ideas, learn, and connect with my ideal clients.
Based on this personal experience, I always recommend to my clients to step out of their comfort zone and not underestimate the power of networking to propel their businesses forward.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Lourdes Rotell, a graphic designer and communicator originally from Guatemala City. At the end of 2021, I got married and moved to San Diego, CA.
How did LORO DESIGNS CA LLC come about?
I have always been clear that the path I want to take in life is that of entrepreneurship, and during my wait for a change in legal status in the country, I had the opportunity to join digital and in-person groups where I met wonderful people who shared the same entrepreneurial spirit. It was there that I saw an opportunity to help people by doing what I am most passionate about.
This is how LORO, a virtual creative studio, was born.
But what do we specialize in?
At LORO DESIGNS CA LLC, we specialize in transforming businesses into unique and memorable brands through strategic visual identities.
How? Through our individual graphic design services and visual identity packages, tailored to meet the specific needs of small and medium-sized businesses, anywhere in the world!
Because our commitment to the success of businesses knows no boundaries.
What sets LORO apart from other businesses offering similar services is the quality of time and personalized attention we provide to each client. From the beginning to the end of the project, we offer 1:1 guidance and support.
This has also allowed us to create a committed and close-knit digital community through our social networks and to reach a wider audience in various parts of the world such as Guatemala, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain, Germany, and other states in the United States.
Being where we are today was certainly not a quick or easy process. From the legal procedures with the county to open a business, to establishing and building a reputation.
However, I feel very fortunate to experience each stage and to remember how yesterday I might have been in a very different position than where I am today, and how little by little we are advancing and fulfilling our mission and vision.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
You can’t come to San Diego and miss:
– Its incredible gastronomy. As a food lover and enthusiast of its diversity, I would recommend trying: Ramen Nagi at Westfield UTC, El Cruce on Third Avenue Chula Vista, Balboa Bar and Grill on Third Avenue Chula Vista, Talavera Azul on Third Avenue Chula Vista, Pho CA Dao & Grill on Broadway Chula Vista, Birrieria Don Rafa and La Sinaloense on Broadway Chula Vista, and La Puerta in Gaslamp.
– What places to visit?
Pacific and Mission Beach because they are connected and have a very lively atmosphere.
Downtown San Diego, specifically Harbor Drive and Seaport Village because there is no city as incredible by the ocean as San Diego. Little Italy and Coronado.
– Hikes
Potato Chip, Sunset Cliffs, and Mission Trails Regional Park.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Entrepreneurship is a decision wrapped in uncertainty, yet the support of family, friends, and professionals envelops you with the energy and assurance that every step you take is filled with motivation and determination.
As a twenty-eight-year-old business owner, recently married and having migrated to the United States almost three years ago, I am infinitely grateful for the unconditional support and love of my husband. Without his support, I would not have been able to evaluate and explore my options as a professional and to create what is now LORO DESIGNS CA, doing what I am passionate about and supporting the surrounding community.
I also want to express my gratitude to the chambers of commerce and cooperatives with whom I have been able to share my skills and who have also created and opened networking spaces in various parts of San Diego.
And to every business owner who has placed full trust in the work and commitment of LORO DESIGNS for their businesses.
Because LORO DESIGNS is a community of positive, creative, and committed energy.
Without each individual or group mentioned above, LORO would not be possible!
