We had the good fortune of connecting with London Chong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi London, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
The average content creator wears quite a number of hats. Content creation is hard work. It is more work than most people think and includes multiple phases. First, it involves developing a relationship and evaluating a brand to determine whether there is a good fit. I conduct lots of research ahead of time to see how my abilities might be able to blend with their desires, goals, and aesthetics while still being relevant, unique, creative, and presenting attention-grabbing content.

There is often more than one person behind-the-scenes assisting with photos, video, or pretty much anything else that might be needed. However, it certainly also takes a lot of confidence to be able to rely on yourself. Especially if you create fashion and lifestyle content as I do which might mean creative public wardrobe changes!

The editing process is something I have learned gradually over time and have developed many different skills I never thought I would need. It can take a day, week, or month to complete depending on how extensive the project is. There are times when it can be a little stressful to present the finished product to the client. The goal is for a client or brand to be in love with what has been presented, although, on the flip side, there might also be harsh feedback or what we hope never happens; a reshoot. However, ultimately, it is about providing the best possible content for the brand. Not only meeting but exceeding expectations is the goal.

Content creation is hard work. But when you are able to reach the point when you can make good money and produce quality work, it becomes extremely rewarding and fulfilling! I have a chance to put my passion on full display, maintain a flexible and balanced schedule, learn new skills continually, have the opportunity to create content from just about anywhere, and work with brands that I admire. There are endless benefits!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am so grateful for the resources my parents have provided for me. Connections, financial support, and education have all been extremely advantageous. When choosing my career path, I have had to consider multiple factors, however, most of all have been my health considerations. I’ve had a huge struggle with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and anxiety disorders for years drastically limiting my career options. I had to be very selective about what I wanted to do professionally because a number of factors have been involved. Although feeling better now, it has been a long and difficult road, that I still need to manage consistently. Every day is still a struggle but it has been so much easier to manage.

I was learning so much professionally from my parents at a young age through various opportunities, that I decided to leave college and I am very glad that I did. I was able to gain so much hands-on experience at such a young age. The encouragement and support from my family and friends have been beyond words. The list of my support system would be very long!

It has been concluded via research that your beliefs and sense of well-being can be directly connected. Consistently improving my spiritual health has brought comfort, strength, and a positive attitude. They have helped to motivate me to strive to become my optimal self.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We often have friends and family that visit. My favorite part of San Diego is La Jolla. Other than the touristy spots, although still a must-see, the dining is amazing. San Diego is so extremely diverse and culturally unique. My favorite restaurant of all is The Cottage in La Jolla. It is a must! The food is amazing and always consistent, the atmosphere is quaint yet exciting, and the location is perfect. You can go for a nice stroll around after eating. Shopping or walking to the water for an invigorating day could not be better.

Other favorite dining spots are Poseidon in Del Mar and Javier’s in UTC. For great pastries try one of the locations of the Parakeet Cafe. If you want a great atmosphere, food, and action, head to Little Italy!

Not only do I love the UTC mall, but consignment shopping for high-end designer items is a highlight.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are multiple people who have been right beside me. Whether helping with shoots, giving words of encouragement, passing out hard truths, or sharing in my frustrations, my parents, Steve and Edwina, and cousins Mercedes and Paris have been by my side. I owe my business knowledge, creativity, and aspiration to work as hard as possible to my parents.

However, first and foremost, before all of that, it is my relationship with my God Jehovah that has sustained me through everything and continues to do so. My morals, spiritual strength, encouraging scriptures, and beautiful friends have all been an outright blessing when I have felt hopeless at times.
