We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizzie Peirce and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizzie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

When I entered the YouTube and photo/video space, it was glaringly a boys’ club. Women weren’t getting the recognition they deserved. I wanted to change that narrative, not just for me but for others. So, I started my own channel to be a symbol for women in this industry, hoping to inspire someone to say, “If she can do it, I can too!”

Realizing that a quick IG post or YouTube video wouldn’t cut it, I decided to create courses. I had years of valuable information to share, and I wanted to provide concrete steps for turning creative passion into a full-fledged business.

It wasn’t easy – time was scarce, and financial risks were real. But smart decisions and monetizing my account paid off, allowing me to build a team I’m proud of. Today, I’m here to give creators, especially young women, the confidence to kickstart their own creative journey. I want to share insights that took me years to uncover, helping them take those crucial first steps toward working for themselves. It’s about designing a life where they can travel, create content they’re proud of, and make a living doing what they love. It’s been a rollercoaster, but I’m here, ready to guide others on their journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart is that I try to stay real. I try to add my humour, my honesty, and my take on everything I do. There’s so much phony crap out there that I just want people to feel okay being themselves. It’s important to me to stay authentic.

None of this was easy. Financially, socially, mentally… Imposter syndrome is a big one I always struggle with. The constant need to want to do more and be better can be paralyzing and exhausting. On the other hand it’s what makes this job so exciting and challenging.

My journey is about empowerment in a creative world that often overlooked women. Starting my channel was a deliberate choice to inspire women in the industry.

Balancing my original job while venturing into a new creative space was challenging, but strategic decisions turned obstacles into opportunities.

Standing beside my ex-husband online wasn’t about riding coattails; it was about establishing my unique voice. I’ve learned time management, financial acumen, and finding my own digital identity.

Beyond content creation, I’m here to empower creators, especially women. Through insights into social media, production, and personalized coaching, I aim to enable others to design a life where they can travel, create meaningful content, and sustain a livelihood doing what they love. My story is about determination and empowerment, shared not just as a narrative but as inspiration for others on their unique journeys.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would probably take them to Kensington market, to a jays game or raptors game, shopping, and to fresh which is one of my favourite restaurants.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I give so much credit to my ex-husband Chris Hau. He was and still is one of my biggest supporters in starting a YouTube channel and growing my business. All my YouTube friends for keeping me motivated and helping me understand my work isn’t sh*t. And finally Josh Koby and my current Editor Justin Boruta because they are my right hand men in this thing.
