We had the good fortune of connecting with Liz Profumo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Liz, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Without a doubt it’s my team. I’ve been blessed to find team members who are as conscientious and care about my clients and our work as much as I do. So finding people who care, and have skills that complement mine has definitely been the key to our success.

What should our readers know about your business?
Global Talent Immigration Law group helps artists and professionals who are working at the highest levels in their field to obtain visas and green cards to live and work in the U.S. We take great pride in providing the highest level of customer service, and producing outstanding work product. We are honored to be recognized by Law Firm 500 as one of the fast-growing small law firms in the U.S. in 2023 and 2024.

I started practicing immigration law in 2007. The first firm I worked in specialized in representing clients from Ethiopia, Burma, and other countries in asylum cases, as well as family-based immigration and removal defense. In my next role, I started in removal defense, defending clients against deportation, but when that firm closed down its removal defense division, I moved into doing O-1’s and EB-1’s. As an art-lover, I knew I had found my niche. I soon went into private practice, applying for O-1’s for the students who were finishing the Stella Adler School of Acting program, which then grew into a full O-1 practice for all kinds of artists. In 2014, I joined a firm as a partner where I was able to really expand my career, representing a lot of tech industry professionals and high level film/TV industry clients. Global Talent then opened its doors in 2018 and has been flourishing since, despite the Covid-19 pandemic and two politically turbulent periods of difficult immigration policies.

I love what I do, and I’m happy to help whoever I can however I can. I actually care deeply about each and every one of our clients, and I’ve been blessed to build a team of professionals who share the same level of care and commitment. I pride myself on providing honest feedback, and advice that helps my clients reach their goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love to eat, so I’m sure we’d go to my favorite restaurant of the moment, Rosaline. I love museums and live close to LACMA, the Academy Museum and Petersen Museum, so that’s an easy day – although the Broad downtown is probably my favorite collection. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s so I still love a mall and think that the Century City Mall takes it to the next level, so we’d have to stop there. You can’t visit LA without going to the beach in Venice and Santa Monica. And if we had week I’d be sure to hit Joshua Tree and Palm Springs to take in the dessert beauty and lay by a pool.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would dedicate my shoutout to the Soka Gakkai International, a Buddhist organization that champions world peace.
