Meet Klyn Elsbury | Founder Leadership Sales Training

We had the good fortune of connecting with Klyn Elsbury and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Klyn, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It came down to two things: seeing the same patterns in sales teams everywhere—and facing my own mortality at 24 due to cystic fibrosis.
I noticed that most salespeople weren’t lacking talent; they were lacking structure, support, or scripts that actually felt human. And after being told I might not have much time left, I got clear fast: I wanted to spend my life helping others find their voice, close with confidence, and build sales cultures that actually work.
Starting my business was a way to combine psychology, persuasion, and purpose—to help teams sell in a way that feels good and gets results.
What should our readers know about your business?
Leadership Sales Training helps companies simplify their sales process, train confident teams, and close more deals—without sounding pushy, sleazy, or robotic. We bring psychology-backed frameworks and real-world strategies to help salespeople actually enjoy what they do and get results they’re proud of.
What sets us apart is that we teach sales in a way that’s deeply human. No fluff. No outdated scripts. Just proven persuasion techniques that help people lead better conversations and create real impact.
Was it easy? Not even close. I built this company while battling cystic fibrosis, surviving more than 40 surgeries, and being told I might not live past my twenties. But that’s exactly what gave me the clarity to go all in—to teach others how to use their voice, own their value, and create more freedom through sales.
At the heart of it all is this belief: sales isn’t just a job skill. It’s a life skill. And when you learn how to sell with purpose, you change your income, your confidence—and your future.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Oh I love this question—I’d be that host with a full-blown itinerary on a Notes app.
We’d kick off the trip in Little Italy—brunch at Morning Glory because yes, the wait is insane, but it’s part of the fun. After that, we’d wander through the Saturday Mercado, grab some flowers or fresh pasta, and maybe pop into James Coffee Co. for an afternoon pick-me-up. As the sun starts to dip, we’d head up to Top of the Hyatt for skyline views and cocktails—or if we’re feeling fancy, dinner at Born and Raised. That spot is a whole vibe.
Later in the week, I’d keep that momentum going by showing them why San Diego isn’t just beaches—it’s brainy, too. I’d see if there’s a local Vistage or EO mixer happening and bring them to meet some of the ridiculously smart founders and executives that call this place home. The kind of people who can talk KPIs and cold plunges in the same breath. That’s San Diego energy.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Vistage and EO peer groups!
