We had the good fortune of connecting with Kierron Molet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kierron, let’s talk legacy – what do you want yours to be?
Legacy is what drives you to do what you do; not for you but for others. I want to create generational support for my family-my parents, my grandparents, my little brother, my sister… those who have stuck by me and supported me through everything. I do it for them. I would love for people to remember me as someone who never gave up, never lost faith, never let reality stop him. To be remembered for anything, you have to stand for something. I’ve fallen a few times along the way, many more falls to come but getting back up is how legacies start.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As an actor, the art isn’t only what people see you do on screen but often comes from what you do off screen-what I call ‘behind the scenes of life’. The decisions you make, the actions you take, relationships you build or don’t build can create beautiful, valuable moments or they can create distasteful, undesirable moments… either way, they all lead to a creative life that could only be expressed by you; nobody else is living or has lived your life, completely unique. I’m thankful to have had the support and guidance from family, friends and coaches to help me get to where I’m at currently. Pursuing a career in entertainment is challenging enough but moving away from your hometown has probably been the hardest part-being away from everyone and everything you knew isn’t easy but I think it’s essential to growing emotionally, mentally and professionally. My versatility puts me in a good position, I can play the sweet, unsuspecting boyfriend/love interest or the creepy, psychotic brainwasher but I’m super high energy and naturally the silly/goofy guy in the group of friends so it’s ironic, I never get cast for those roles!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m literally the worst person to ask for things to do and places to see. I spent most of my life in Colorado and still couldn’t answer that question! Perks of being a homebody okay, don’t ask me nothing about nowhere HA! A week long in the house with uninterrupted naps sounds lovely to me. No, I do enjoy beaches if it’s hot enough, any San Diego beaches will do (Coronado, Ocean, Pacific, Mission) but I do love me some Santa Monica or Venice up north. Good vibes and taco trucks on every corner, what more could you want.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m surrounded with support by literally everyone in my life which makes this question the hardest to answer fully. I cannot list them all simply because it would be too long. My mama, Ghea and Boompa (my grandparents, I call them Ghea and Boompa!) and little brother, my boy/roommate/self tape reader/trainer Brandon and my Aunt Suzie are who I must list-they all have been at the forefront of my journey and wouldn’t be where I am right now without them; and the director of my latest project, George, is getting a spot because I wouldn’t be writing this in the first place if it wasn’t for him. I know I’m going to hurt some feelings by not including others but for the record, if you’re reading this… I dedicate this to you as well. I’m at a point in my life where I am truly grateful for everyone who has come into it, for whatever reason it may have been because every relationship serves a purpose and no one gets anywhere without someone.”
