We had the good fortune of connecting with Kevan Nichols and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kevan, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Honestly, generational wealth. Just thinking about that phrase, makes me want to work hard and go hard at whatever I do. I wanted to make sure, I had something secure to pass down to my son, and whoever his future children may be. I do music on the side and have another part time job, but having my own business was always the ultimate goal. Never really enjoyed working for someone. Lol
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I like to be as original as I can when it comes to my creativity. There’s so many minds in the world. So many talented people. Sometimes it gets hard to be creative, but then I remember who I am, and the talents I possess, and it takes me right back to where I need to be mentally as an artist and a creator. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am today. It took awhile, and I’m still not finished! I’ve given up time and time again on music, until one day I told myself, that God wouldn’t have given me the talents and skills that I have if He didn’t want me to use them while I am here on earth. That helped me to overcome any other challenges or negative thinking, that would hinder me from continuing on my journey. Making music has and always will be a passion of mine. I get the most proud and excited, when I think of a new song idea, and it comes to life in days. Something I don’t have to wait on. I need the world to know, that I love life. I love humans. I love animals. I love waking up to new days. I love being as positive and as caring and as loving that I can be. I try to show it through my music and entertainment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Living is San Diego, of course I am going to say the beach. Anywhere where there is nature. A good hike off of a good trail. Shopping at our malls. Night life in downtown, or in Pacific Beach.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and older brother deserve a lot of recognition. Still to this day they play a major factor in my life and my decisions. If it weren’t for their guidance and grace, I really don’t know what I’d be doing, as cliche as it sounds.
