We had the good fortune of connecting with Kay Sibson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kay, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

Jumping into starting Novapricity, LLC, was like opening a new chapter where I could finally align my work with what truly matters to me. Imagine feeling a bit out of place in your career, knowing deep down you have so much more to offer than what’s being tapped into. That was me. I was craving not just a challenge, but a chance to do things my way, blending strategy with freedom and making a real impact.

The push to create my own business came from wanting that sweet spot of professional independence and the chance to define success on my own terms. It was about dreaming bigger—for the flexibility to work from anywhere (yes, even from a cozy café in some European country) and for my family to have the freedom to explore life’s possibilities.

Saying goodbye to the office job was liberating. I was stepping away from an environment that couldn’t fully appreciate my talents and moving towards a space where I could use my skills to their fullest. This wasn’t just about breaking away; it was about crafting a space where creativity and strategic thinking could flourish without any holdbacks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

My journey has taken me from the backstage drama of theatre to the whirlwind of wedding planning, and now, to supporting intuitive entrepreneurs in making their business dreams a reality. This adventure has taught me that my secret sauce is combining soul with strategic foresight and a deep dive into personal development.

Making the shift to being the face of my own business wasn’t just about stepping into the spotlight; it required rethinking what hard work and success really mean. Success, I’ve discovered, isn’t about the grind but about finding joy and purpose in our work, seeing challenges as stepping stones rather than roadblocks.

It’s been a transformational ride, one that’s shown me sustainable success is a dance between doing the inner work and putting smart strategies into play. I want to inspire others to embrace their unique paths to success, mixing self-belief, resilience, and a thoughtful plan. Here’s to us charting our courses!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

If my bestie were in town, showing off the magic of Missoula, MT, would be top of my agenda. It’s this incredible blend of outdoor adventure and community vibes that makes it a gem. We’d kick off with hikes and nature walks, hitting up spots like Maclay Flats and the Rattlesnake wilderness. There’s something about the tranquility of these places that just clears your head and fills you with peace.

Summertime here? Unbeatable. The downtown comes alive in a way that’s just so Missoula—everyone’s out and about, soaking in the Montana sun against a stunning natural backdrop. We’d definitely sneak away for day trips to Seeley Lake, Flathead Lake, and Philipsburg. Each place has its own slice of beauty and serenity, perfect for that reset we all need.

And when it’s time to switch gears to work mode or catch up over a drink, Cambie Tap House is where you’d find us. It’s not just the drinks I’m there for; it’s the vibe. The staff make it feel like home, and there’s this perfect balance of chill and productivity in the air. It’s Missoula’s laid-back lifestyle in a nutshell, with a dash of inspiration on the side.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to thank my husband, Nic Sibson, for his unwavering support; Connie Anne, for her friendship and insights; and the invaluable guidance and resources from SCORE, Melissa Froehlich, and the Missoula Businesswomen’s Network. Your support has been pivotal in my journey.
