We had the good fortune of connecting with Karina Felix and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Karina, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I feel that taking risks is what has helped me grow my business. I have been very worried or scared at times I would fail and I have but I have succeeded more. I always persevere to try and learn new things and/or better my ways.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Urban Pet is a dog grooming business that tailors to both human and canine alike. We listened to what people do not like about other places and try to meet everyone’s expectations. We like to maintain a clean image and treat our doggie customers as our own. The journey was definitely not easy, there was a lot of learning and effort that was made along the way (and still do) but I truly enjoy and I am so very proud to call my business my own. We recently launched professional pet photography!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
San Diego has so much, it literally has everything buy if I had to sum up I would definitely say to visit Balboa Park. Grab some food and drinks in little Italy. Do a little local shopping and visit liberty station. Visit the Birch aquarium and visit the beaches.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and family that have supported me and helped me in my journey. We’ve had ups and downs, getting up early, staying up late, going up to people and recommending. Doing anything and everything. Thank you.
