We had the good fortune of connecting with Kaan Peksen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kaan, what is the most important factor behind your success?
We believe in high quality production of garments from our factory and most important thing is the happiness and satisfaction of our customer. We are a customer oriented business which focuses on what customer wants and needs. Furthermore, We follow fashion trends closely to stay up to date with our designs on our garments. We manufacture our garments at an eminent factory in Istanbul. We have competitive pricing for the quality that we offer for our customer. Moreover, Half a century experience in textile industry is of the most important reasons why we become a huge success in the clothing industry. Three generation of experience in textile industry shows the quality of garments that we make available for our customer.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My brand is Southern Californian clothing brand which aims to produce clothes which anyone can wear in their day-to-day lives. It was very difficult to be known by other people when you are creating a clothing brand because everyone is skeptical about your brand. It is never easy to start your own business. There are many obstacles on the way that you need to figure out in the most efficient way possible. It took me a while to get my customer base and start to sell clothes everyday. I learned a lot about cost of production, pricing, managing other people. Making other people content is of the most important aspects of having your own clothing brand. My clothing brand story started when I was a student at university. I wanted to manufacture a garment that everyone wears at our university. I want to sell my garments in every country one day. Everyone to know my brand.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favourite spot in Southern California is Coronado and Coronado beach in San Diego. San Diego is an amazing city overall. I went to university there. i would like to show my university and many amazing beaches which has incredible sunsets. We would go to a burger shop then go to Coronado beach to hangout. We would visit San Diego Zoo which is another fascinating place in San Diego. We would go for surfing at the beach. We would say hi to my college friends from the university years.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My father is the biggest contributor to my success in my brand because everything that I know in textile industry. I learned from my father while working at the textile factory. He teach me textile business from A-Z to manufacture high quality garments for our customer. My father is my support, mentor. He always encourages me to read, learn. Thanks to his effort, I have a company today.
