We had the good fortune of connecting with Juliette Jurcak and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Juliette, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is so unbelievably important. Truthfully, most of my career moves have been big risks, but each one brought me closer to my goals. During COVID, I was in Tampa with a great corporate job and made the decision to drive cross-country to find a new city to explore. I fell in love with San Diego and knew if I wanted to stay, I needed to make a career change. I had always had an interest in event planning, so I started reaching out to local planners/venues. I found a company I loved and emailed every few months until they had an opening. I was able to begin pursuing my passion there, and after a bit of time, I decided I needed to branch out on my own to see what would happen. I left to start my own company with no business name or potential clients, hoping for the best. Over the course of a month, I launched my business, signed clients, and am truly so happy every day working to pursue this dream. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t taken those risks and I’m so thankful to all those who have loved and supported me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’d love for people to think of LOVER as heart-felt planning & coordination. It’s more than wedding planning, it’s about the magic in the process of planning and the beauty of the big day. LOVER is meant to embody the love, the joy, and the momentous occasion that is getting married. When I work with my couples, I become a part of their story and am with them throughout the process of planning – to be an organized to-do list, to be a sense of calm amidst the noise, and to plan and review every detail so my couples can enjoy their wedding. I have loved each and every couple I’ve worked with and I want LOVER to be a reflection of how passionate I am of their love stories.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My must-dos for San Diego:

Places to Visit: Sunset Cliffs, Balboa Park, La Jolla Cove (for the seals)
Restaurants: Little Italy, Sky Deck, Bencotto, Rovino, Board & Brew, Liberty Public Market, Cafe21
Drinks: Cody’s, Swan Bar, Rovino
Things to do: Little Italy Farmer’s Market, Hike in Torrey Pines

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so thankful for all of the love and support I’ve received from family, friends and colleagues. To my husband, thank you. Every time my goals grew or changed, you’ve supported me and told me you truly believed I could and would do it. To my mom and brothers, thank you for always loving me and cheering me on. To my friends, thank you for your support, from engaging on social media to taking part in the building process of LOVER. Thank you to Amanda B for your encouragement – it was truly the most heart-touching conversation I needed. I want to thank my colleagues, Araceli (Fleur Alchemy Co.) for the love and advice, Ariel (Ariel Min Photography) for the encouragement and support, and Katherine & Anson (Flora the Venue) for the opportunities and growth. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
