We had the good fortune of connecting with Josephh hurst and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Josephh, how does your business help the community?
in these times i feel people need a positive message and uplifting sound and vibe especially the younger generation that is fed so much garbage through TV and social media , one kind word can literally change the corse of a person’s day i believe .
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In 2016 i started rude creation band with a group of Local musicians in San Diego, through the years rude creation has had several different musicians perform with the band , In 2018 with the help of some local DJs called the border man connection we brought the reggae legend Purple man to United States from Kingston Jamaica for the very first time in his career and we were his backing band at a venue called over the border, Shortly after the performance we backed him at another venue in Ocean Beach with the legendary Dj Carlos culture as the host and house DJ of the night ,,, Since then we have been performing several different times on the local news and local venues around town, since the Covid epidemic Currently currently stopping live performances we are pushing hard to get an album out I have a Great group of musicians performing in the band right now we are super stoked and there is amazing energy with everything
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m going to recommend ocean beach i used to live there growing up through my 20s and had a lot of great memories With my younger brother there we used to rent a little loft off of long branch and Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, One of the best memories I had there was I’m going surfing at night time on the Fourth of July I filled my backpack with beers and some joints zip locked up with a lighter and paddled out and had a blast of a time with thousands of surfers and then a big marshmallow war on the shore with thousands of people just going crazy throwing marshmallows at each other
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
i want to give a shout-out to ricky navarro who has been a great friend and band member through the years and we are still currently performing together, his teeth solos are amazing if your lucky to get a chance to see him perform a song on his guitar for you !
