Meet Johnny Metro | Theme Park Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Johnny Metro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Johnny, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve always been drawn to creative pursuits my whole life and I really don’t feel fully fulfilled unless I’m out there giving something to the world. Making music and being a musician was a big part of my life for many years and still is but now I’m more focused on content creation from different perspectives. Its much harder to be the one that writes the song and also promote it — this stage of my creative life is more based in bringing people characters or media that they already love and putting my stamp on it.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There are a lot of creators out there covering a lot of theme park content like I do, but I like to think I have a special spin on things that no one else has. I’m really out to make people laugh or make them happy and have them enjoy a few seconds of fun and laughter in their day. It makes me feel amazingly great to think millions have watched my videos and laughed, that’s an amazing power.
It wasn’t easy getting to where I am now and I think a lot of creators can tell you that its a very tough road at times — engagement can be very tricky with the apps that we use. You must persevere when the going gets tough, when you think no ones paying attention or maybe no one cares that week — because in the long run those who stick to it will survive.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Lately I cover Disneyland and Universal Studios the most, so my videos can tell you a lot about the best places to eat and drink, etc. in those parks, Los Angeles has a ton to offer thats not just theme parks — there’s something for everyone here and thats what makes it so amazing.
The best week you can have in LA is catch a show at Hollywood Bowl or Greek Theater, have sushi at Yamashiro in Hollywood, visit Disneyland, see a movie at the Chinese Theater or Cinerama Dome, hike to the Hollywood Sign and drive down Mullholland Drive and overlook the city at night.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’ve met a lot of amazing content creators in this new stage of my journey but one duo I really take a lot of motivation from is my friends Sometimes Castles. That’s their channel name, they are Ry and Skyla, and they make a lot of really amazing videos and have really been an integral part of my journey through theme park content the last year or so.
