We had the good fortune of connecting with Joel Loa and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I have a strong believe, that if you don’t risk anything you’re never gonna know if you are capable of doing what it is that your trying to do “life is a risk.”…..”with out pain there is no gain” same basic concept.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I personally don’t think I am any different from anybody else, we all create our own path for the good or bad and we keep on surviving with what we have and or get. I am happy and and exited about the future, for once in my life im actually exited for what the future holds for me if I keep pushing myself. I don’t think nothing is easy until you actually want to learn something., once you get your mentality on something you want to do your mind works in a different way. You start paying attention cause it’s something that you want..Its INCREDIBLE the path that photography does, all the people that you meet, the smiles you put on peoples faces after they see the pictures, plus you get to learn more and more about things you were not even aware of. Its just another world! .

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a really good friend came to visit I would definitely take him to the one place I know ” Vegas ” the city of sin!. We would eat nothing but stake and lobster my Favorite…Plus I have a friend that lives in Vegas and he’s definitely always down to hang out lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The effort and support for me jumping into photography has to go to my other half and partner Delia Ochoa. She has been there since the beginning, any negative thoughts she makes sure there out of my head and keeps on pushing me to do my best!.
