Meet JIMIJAME$ | Artist, Songwriter, Composer, Creative Director & Music Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with JIMIJAME$ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi JIMIJAME$, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I wanted to invest in something that I’d love waking up to everyday.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m an Artist and Songwriter. My song Bullshxt Or Worry is a Spotify favorite along with Lover$ Score, Dome and No Time. I released a really cool and unique album Oceans & Wave$. You’ve heard me on KCRW if you’ve listened to Garth Trinidad and Aaron Byrd. My music has been featured on tv shows like All American, Queen Sugar, Black Lightning and Double Shot At Love. I’m a composer now scoring music for an upcoming television show on AMC (2023). I love fashion. I’m a Creative Director. Most importantly, I’m independent! I co-own and operate Boss Academy Inc., along with my husband Wow Jones, who is an award-winning music composer, producer and director. Our company has provided music direction and programming for some of the industry’s leading artists including Post Malone, Don Toliver, Bryson Tiller, Rihanna and JoJo, to name a few. I think this is what sets me apart. I am steering my own ship. I can move freely and make my own artistic and business decisions. It hasn’t been easy, I’ve made many sacrifices and experienced incredibly challenging trials. However, I have learned to appreciate challenges that have grown me into a better person. I learned that everything that happens to me, happens for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Being from LA, I would definitely want to eat by the water. I’d take a drive out the The Sunset restaurant in Malibu. Ride along the water and see all the beautiful homes on the coast. I would take them back up through Topanga Canyon to see the views of the canyon and come back down through Hollywood and mid city. We may go to Spitfire Girl on Melrose and pick up a few unique gifts. We may go to dinner at Met Him At A Bar. Then have cocktails at the house with a few special people!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would have to say God is the source that continually guides me through this journey. My key source to learning. My true strength that has allowed me to understand life, business and how to exist as a creative.
