Meet Jessica Rosas

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Rosas and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jessica, what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risk, I see it as essential for growth and breaking past limits. For me, taking risks has been about trusting my creative instincts and seizing opportunities that align with my values. Building Jessica Rosas Events was a bold step I ventured into florals and event decor to create unforgettable experiences in an industry that’s both challenging and fast-paced. Taking risks has helped me stand out and establish a unique presence, where every event tells a story and brings people together in meaningful ways.
Risk has also meant stepping out of my comfort zone to serve on boards, join panels, and represent Latina women, entrepreneurs, and mothers. These roles allow me to inspire others while expanding my own perspective, strengthening both my business and my sense of purpose. I believe every experience is a learning opportunity, and that we all have the power to make a difference.
Each risk I’ve taken has brought me closer to building a career that reflects my creativity, community, and the joy of celebrating others’ special moments. Taking risks has made my journey more rewarding, allowing me to connect deeply with others, create lasting memories, and make an impact all while staying true to who I am.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Jessica Rosas Events, is all about creating unforgettable experiences through event planning, florals, and decor. What sets me apart is my deep passion for storytelling every event I design has a personal touch that connects with the people and the moment. I am most proud of the way I’ve been able to bring beauty and meaning into the celebrations of others, from weddings to corporate events, with creativity and attention to detail.
Getting here wasn’t always easy. Building a business from the ground up requires a lot of hard work, learning, and persistence. There were times when I faced challenges, especially in balancing creativity with the logistics of running a business. But I’ve learned that it’s all about trusting my instincts, embracing the process, and knowing that every setback is an opportunity to grow. Surrounding myself with a supportive community and team has also been key in overcoming challenges.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that success is not just about the end result it’s about the journey and the connections you make along the way. I also believe in the power of reciprocity. When you act with heart, stay unique, and are honest in everything you do, that energy comes back to you in a positive way. Nonprofits are an important part of my work, and I love using my skills to give back and support causes that are close to my heart. I want the world to know that my brand is built on passion, integrity, and a true love for what I do. Every event I create is a reflection of my dedication to making people’s special moments unforgettable, and that’s something I’m incredibly proud of.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting San Diego for a week, I’d make sure they experience the perfect balance of nature, culture, and great food. Here’s a little itinerary:
Day 1:
We’d start with a morning walk along La Jolla Cove, taking in the ocean views and watching the seals. After that, we’d grab breakfast at The Cottage in La Jolla for some fresh, local cuisine. In the afternoon, we’d head over to Sunset Cliffs to catch the stunning views and relax by the water. Dinner would be at Juniper & Ivy for an amazing modern take on local cuisine.
Day 2:
We’d spend the day exploring Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve. Hiking the trails, enjoying the breathtaking views of the cliffs and ocean, and finishing with a relaxing picnic. For dinner, I’d take them to Kettner Exchange in Little Italy for some rooftop dining and great cocktails.
Day 3:
I’d take them on a cultural adventure through Balboa Park, visiting the museums, gardens, and the San Diego Zoo. For lunch, we’d stop by The Prado inside the park, then head to Little Italy in the evening for dinner and drinks at Barbusa.
Day 4:
We’d spend the day exploring North Park and South Park, discovering local coffee shops, art galleries, and vintage shops. For lunch, we’d stop by Urban Solace, a cozy spot known for delicious comfort food. For dinner, we’d hit up The Patio on Goldfinch for a beautiful atmosphere and amazing bites.
Day 5:
I’d plan a relaxing day in Coronado—taking a ferry over, walking around the Hotel del Coronado, and enjoying the beach. Afterward, we’d have lunch at Crown City Inn for some local seafood and enjoy the relaxed vibe. Dinner would be at C Level Lounge, overlooking the bay with stunning views of downtown San Diego.
Day 6:
A fun day exploring Old Town for a taste of history and Mexican culture. We’d grab lunch at Cafe Coyote for some delicious Mexican cuisine. For dinner, we’d check out The Mission in Mission Beach for amazing Latin-inspired dishes.
Day 7:
For the final day, I’d take them to explore the Gaslamp Quarter for some shopping, bars, and live music. We’d end the trip with dinner at Born & Raised for a fancy steakhouse experience and cocktails.
Throughout the week, we’d make time to stop at local food spots, enjoy different cultures, and soak in the beauty of the area’s natural landscapes. San Diego is full of amazing places, and I’d want to make sure they experience it all!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing community and team, who have been my backbone throughout this journey. I truly believe that the people you surround yourself with become like family, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement I receive from them. Whether it’s my family, friends, or clients, their belief in me inspires me every day. I also want to thank the local organizations and networks that have helped me grow, offering valuable connections and resources. I embrace all the support around me, as it plays a crucial role in my success.
