We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Bosman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
From a very young age I have always been creative. From painting to sculpting and even trying to come up with my own recipes for cooking. It has always brought me joy in creating works of art, even the scientific aspect behind some creations. Knowing that others enjoy my work just as much as I do, lights a fire inside me to continue to create.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I work very hard to create a minimalist product, that is either recyclable or minimal waste. Sourcing many products from other small businesses, as well as sustainable quality materials. Creating products with more than one use, containers that can be upcycled into a reusable storage container.

I just continued to keep making and reformulating recipes. Till I received enough mutual feedback that what I had created was successful in my product vision. No, it was not easy. It has been a long road but very humbling and very insightful. I never gave up, and continued to share my love of the products. I never thought of zero sales as a failure. Only a opportunity to learn and educated others on the benefits of using products that are handmade.

Many lessons haven been learned. I have learned better time management to be able to work and still have quality time with my family. Marketing, photography and social media have been the biggest lessons by far, and still learning.

I started this journey with wanting to provide more natural products that my family could use. Natural and safe products I felt comfortable with my family using. Then I wanted to share them with everyone who wanted to take back control, with natural and fewer ingredient.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would recommend a day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. Watch the sunset before heading to see a movie at Smith’s Ranch Drive-In Theatre. Have dinner at Kitchen in the Desert, then head to the Sky’s the limit observatory to stargaze and look at all the art work on the grounds. Maybe checkout Theatre 29 and visit Tortoise Rock Casino.

We may live in the desert but there is so much to do and see out here. It really is a beautiful place to live.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband Rocky. He has not once questioned anything I want to try my hand at. Always helping and giving his thoughts to help the business grow and become more successful. My family has been very supportive. Giving me feedback from scents, quality of samples they try, labels designs, website designs. Always helping to keep me on brand and held accountable.
