Meet Jennifer Norris | Entrepreneur & Real Estate Professional

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennifer Norris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennifer, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
I have always looked at calculated risk and opportunity as one in the same. After growing up in a very small town in Upstate New York, I made a major move across the country to California by myself at 19 years old. I didn’t yet have a job lined up, knew very little about the life that would be waiting for me across the country, and at the time, didn’t know a single soul that lived west of Ohio. Exciting, yes. Planned out, sort-of. Risky, absolutely. Starting over in a new place meant that I had to be resourceful, creative, and open to new avenues to build that foundation I was striving for in both my personal and professional life. I instantly started growing roots here, fell in love with the vibrant cultures and communities that San Diego has to offer, found like-minded friends and colleagues, and before long, I knew I was “home”. The goal of building my real estate business followed shortly after, and I left the comfort of my full time job to give residential real estate sales my all. Looking back, I couldn’t possibly be more thankful that I trusted and followed those “gut feelings” and took those risks as they led me to a thriving real estate business, long and growing list of past clients turned into happy homeowners, recognition as a “Top 30 Under 30” real estate professional in San Diego County, and over $50 Million in past sales volume.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business is about much more than selling homes – to me, it’s about being able to walk my clients through what I consider to be one of the largest decisions and investments in one’s life. It’s the trust I earn and the time I dedicate to my clients, before, during, and after the transaction that sets me apart from others. Not only do I take pride in the “wins” I bring to the table for my buyers and sellers, but I also empower them with comfortability and confidence in every step of the process. We often times underestimate the emotional impact that comes along with the sale or purchase of a home. A seller saying goodbye to the address where their children were raised, or a first-time homebuyer getting the keys to a home that they never thought was in the realm of possibility for them. When I first started my business, I vowed to always focus on the person behind the purchase, their goals, and their “why”. This mindset has helped me craft my services to be an experience that is catered to each client’s individuality. Who you work with truly does matter, and my brand is built on the idea of collaboration, resilience, and creating extraordinary outcomes for those who put their trust in me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I absolutely love when friends and family come to visit so I can show off our incredible city! We’ll definitely spend some time outdoors, hiking around Torrey Pines State Beach or La Jolla Cove, seeing the sights of Balboa Park or maybe even catching a game at Petco Park (Go Padres!). There are so many places to catch a sunset, but my favorite is with a drink in hand from Monarch Ocean Pub; Del Mar’s coolest happy hour and hang out. After? We head to Old Town to experience some of San Diego’s richest history and delicious Mexican cuisine… I’m hungry just thinking about it!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are many incredibly supportive people in my life, but someone that has had the most direct influence on my career is my mentor, Emma Lefkowitz. She is constantly making waves as a top ranked realtor, impactful team leader, and genuine friend that truly wants to see those around her succeed.
