Meet Jennie Huynh | Co-Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jennie Huynh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jennie, what do you attribute your success to?
Peacock Nails’ success as a salon can be attributed to several key factors. The salon allows its staff members to express their artistic and creative freedom, which has helped the business thrive. Additionally, the salon prioritizes the satisfaction of its staff members and clients and works to accommodate their needs. The salon also maintains positive communication with its clients and strives to create an inclusive work environment. Trusting partners and being open-minded to new ideas and changes have also been crucial in the salon’s growth and expansion.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We take great pride in our creativity and communication with our customers. One thing that sets us apart is our commitment to using ethical and environmentally friendly products. We prioritize the health and safety of our customers by using higher SPF during services to minimize UV exposure and follow strict sanitation protocols. We also offer acrylic and pediatric services and train our technicians in massage therapy. We strive to perfect new trends and services before offering them to customers. Our salon was previously known as Happiness Nails, and we underwent a challenging rebranding process, especially since we opened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, we continue to grow and innovate, thanks to our team’s dedication and commitment to providing the best services and experiences to our customers.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend is in town, then we’re kicking off the morning at a fun brunch spot, Hash House A Go Go! Who wouldn’t want to start the morning with delicious food and mimosas? The chicken and waffles tower is my go-to. After, we’d definitely take a trip over to Peacock Nails where I’d treat her to a spa day. Pedicures, manicures, and maybe a facial (if we haven’t fallen asleep from the massages). Afterwards, we’re going to head to the beach or walk around the port because it has the most scenic views. I’d continue our night with an iconic Tacos El Gordo trip, and order at least three adobada tacos. Last thing? We’d head to my parents’ house, so we can have some fun playing cards and karaoke until we lose track of time.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband Michael and my dog Brûlée are essential to my success, serving as my support system, along with my friends and family within the community. I return home to a loving environment outside of the salon, where I can unwind and talk about my day while experiencing an additional amount of love. Of course, a huge shout out to my mom and dad for their constant support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.
